I unplugged my factory controller and plugged in an aftermarket unit. Now I'm getting a warning light image.jpg
Does anyone know how I can delete the code or what not to remove the notification. I just want to pull my trailer and have working brakes. Silly Toyota brake controller.

I think I remember reading a thread somewhere on here about disconnecting the battery for about 15 to 20 minutes and reconnecting it. That should solve the issue, use the search function and read.

Read on another discussion that if you unplug battery for a few minutes you clear code. But you will no longer have screen showing trailer set up on your display

This is such a ridiculous problem to have and still not resolved. Wow.

If it were me, and I owned a new Tundra, this would be a two week problem that would be easily fixed.

It is, just install an aftermarket controller .... And wait for Toyota to get their ducks in a row and fix it.

I have been working on my truck for the last few months upgrading the lights, speakers, and other electrical parts. Last night I was replacing the rear lights with LED bulbs, this warning came up on my dash. I was really afraid I screwed something up with my wiring. I disconnected the battery and waited about 5 minutes. After that I reconnected the cable to the battery and turned my key on. Again this warning message came on.

So thinking that maybe if I drove around it would go off I tried starting the truck; however, my battery was dead. I guess with me constantly turning my truck off and on and never starting it that I must have drained the battery enough that it didn't have the power to start up the truck. I got out my charger and left it on for about a hour. After that I disconnected the charger and turned on my truck. Once the truck was on the warning message was gone. So if you are getting this message you may also want to make sure you have a good charged battery. Now I just hope I didn't do any harm to my battery running it so low.

2016 should still be under warranty and I would have Toyota test and replace.
