So I just installed these mirrors tonight and after putting them both on I realized that the passenger side mirror is angled in more than the drivers side. I got the fully loaded models and when I do the power fold it is done significantly sooner on the passenger side. Standing at the front of the truck it is also obvious that they are not the same. It’s almost like the mount itself is different but it’s a solid mold so I don’t know how they would end up like that. I’m a truck driver by profession so I’ve used a lot of different tow mirrors and I’ve never noticed this before. Anyone else ever seen this with these mirrors? It was dark by the time I thought to take pictures but I’ll try to post some tomorrow.

I think “we’ll documented” may be an over statement. I’ve done a considerable amount of reading on these before I bought them and just did another search with not a single mention of what I’m talking about. If you are seeing something that I’m not, please share.

I've had the 1AAuto/Trail Ridge power fold mirrors for years now and they've always been asymmetrical. I only notice when folding/unfolding and one takes longer than the other. I never put too much thought into it as I figured the different angles were needed to provide the best view, without having to adjust one mirror too far in one direction to get a clear view.

The biggest issue I have with mine is after about 6-8 months they struggle to fold (hit button and nothing happens, but if I hit button and "help" them fold they will fold). It's like they need greased but no one (including 1AAuto) can tell me what/how to grease them. And everything I've tried has been unsuccessful.

I put oem tow mirrors on my truck. Going to have to go look now as I’ve never noticed that before.

That is good to know. Thanks for the help. This will be the first vehicle in a long line of tow vehicles where it is this way. Or at least this noticeable. It’s really going to bug my OCD but it doesn’t seem like I have much of a choice.

Yup, I have OEM tow mirrors and this is true of them as well.

One of those things that most people will never notice.

Well I've used the mirrors a bit now and I'm just not that happy with them. I fully understand that they must be slightly assymmetrical but these are way off for me. The person designing them must have been really short because for where I have my seat set I can barely adjust the passenger mirror out far enough to be useful. The convex mirror on bottom doesn't adjust out nearly far enough. They really need to be farther out than they are. If you are short they are probably fine but not for me. Nothing I can do about it so I'm stuck with them but it really sucks to have regrets over a $600 purchase. They also vibrate which is not cool.

Did you get them from 1AAuto? If so it might be worth a call regarding the vibration. They replaced a pair for me because one mirror had play at the folding arm. At highway speeds with a head wind the whole mirror (not just the glass) would move back and forth about 1/8" and I'd see it out of the corner of my eye. Super annoying.

As for the adjustment, I'm not super tall (6'-0") but dont have problems adjusting either the main or lower passenger side mirror. I have the main mirror adjusted to see about one foot away from the side of the truck and the lower mirror at the road/wheel contact area. When towing and the mirrors are slid out the main passenger mirror is moved out even further to see down the side of the camper.

I got my first set on Christmas eve and installed them. I got about 4 to 5 hours of labor into these because I had to find the wire to tap in to to get the spot lights to work. Finally hook everything up and drove the truck on Christmas morning and both of the mirrors vibrate just leaving my neighborhood. Got another set in and they're worst. They both still vibrate, the driver turn signals got condensation, the passenger mirrors got distortion and get this, makes a high pitch whistle when I go over 30mph. Wtf, sent these pictures to them and still waiting to hear back from last Thursday. $500 is alot of money to get some shaky mirrors.
