Currently in a 19 trd sport 4x4 mgm with 67k. My buddy called me and said he can get me in a limited voodoo blue 4x4 with no money down and $10 more a month. What would you guys do?

Probably won’t find a ton of 1st gen section guys that are in favor of a 3rd gen but since your already in one, couple points to consider:

    1. How stable is your line work
2.how long you had the 19 and what do you owe on it
    3. What are you gaining on the 21 over the 19

*if I was in your shoes, I probably wouldn’t do it.

    Work is stable.
    2 years and 34k
Newer model with more options and less miles. But it’s also about 50k.
I like the voodoo blue it’s a great color and it’s got a lot of options that mine doesn’t. But the sport has a lot of stuff and I’ve done quite a bit of mods

NEVER GO OFF MONTHLY PAYMENTS. Dealers, friends or not, can get you just about any payment you can afford. The lower the payment the longer the loan, so $10 more a month for how many years?

That’s the only reason I’m thinking of not doing it. I’ll be adding like 3 more years on my loan

Ok, so what features does the new truck have that you can't add for a fraction of the 20k? I mean, if you want the new truck and it's a good deal, pounce on it. If you love your current truck and feel that adding some nicer touches would keep that flame alive, why spend extra?

The only things it has that mine doesn’t is the moonroof, dual ac and the remote start.

would you pay 20k to add those? If not, love the one you have. From what I read remote start is simple enough to add, and can be done OEM. If the other two appeal, I would personally wait until the gen 3 trucks are released and see if that appeals. If not, you should still be able to get into a 2021, and maybe the covid price gouging will have died down a bit.

For whatever it's worth my vote is put $10 more per month into the loan you have. Thank your friend and tell them to reach out in 2 years to see how you feel.

Every time I see one of these threads I feel like typing the words "should I?" Tells you that you shouldn't.

Pay off the truck you have and be happy.

The only item I would buy that is worth more than my annual salary is a home, but that's just me...

I'd sell the 2019 and get a 2005-06 Double Cab.

At first I was like, $10 more, Voodoo color, hell ya I’d do it but then what everyone said makes a lot of sense. If you like what you have and get enjoyment adding new mods I’d say stay with what you got. If you bought the Voodoo think about all of the mods you are going to add to it. Tough call, best of luck on your decision.

You only live once man.... I can understand the idea behind being frugal an all that.. but You obviously spend alot of time in your vehicle so you may as well spend whatever you have to (as long as you can pay the bills) an freaking do it ... Other then a house the vehicles the next biggest money pit in life.. I see no reason not to drive what you really want as long as you can afford it.. What kind of gum? Fuggumm.. Treat yourself ...

Moon roof will leak or rattle before your loan is paid off and you really only use a moon roof under a hundred times a year.

    Not worth it at all.

Keep your truck. If you must trade, wait for the 22's.

Whenever I get the urge to trade or sell I detail the vehicle. For some odd reason I fall back in love with it.

Personally I wouldn't do it, there is no better feeling than zero debit. My wife and I were debit free when I made the decision last March to trade my 2012 Ridgeline for the Tundra. This is my retirement truck and the last planned vehicle purchase for me, 9 months in owe under 12k.

Consider this in addition to no real differences between a 2019 and 2021 except more bells and whistles... why risk trading a perfectly good truck tuned to your liking and possibly get a truck that has issues? I went through this same progress and realized why would I trade in a truck that is perfect for a new one that could potentially have problems?

Honestly, every situation is different. Only you know what you should do.

    No one knows the future.

It's always a good thing to be debt free.

O miles on a new truck for 10 more bucks a month doesn't sound bad either.:D

How do you make your decisions?

    Finger in the wind?

    Tundras.com member advice?

    Gut check?

    Prayer?

I hope you're not rolling dice.;)

THIS I will say: I don't like making life decisions that are not good for ME.
