I just got back from a week of diving on Roatan, Honduras.
I noticed that the vast majority of vehicles on the island were Toyotas. I got to see a bunch of Hilux trucks, as well as several Tacomas. I saw one Tundra..."they use too much gas" is what a local told me. With gas over $4/gallon in a poor economy, mileage is important. He also said "Toyotas last the longest"! Plus, the island is only 29 miles long, with one main road (and it's not the greatest!), so power and top speed are not important there.
I did also see a few new Ford Rangers...not bad looking.
