    Hey guys,

My first post here so if this doesn't belong in this specific thread please let me know.

    I recently purchased a 2020 Toyota Tundra SR5 and I noticed a weird thing:

This only happens when first starting the engine. After starting the engine when I put it into drive and gas it a little bit, I feel this weird bump on the pedal. Very subtle and can only really feel it if you are gassing slow. Once again, this only happens the first time starting the engine and the first time gassing the pedal after. Called Toyota and they said all Toyota V8 engines do this.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks!

Are you moving when this happens? If so, it's your initial ABS system check after start up, which would be totally normal.

Like the above post said, if you are moving about 5 MPH it's the ABS system check. Completely normal.

It's searching for the super charger. To get rid of this a super charger must be added.

This is just plain mean sir. Let’s stop messing around.

@ealxele, I am guessing you have a white Tundra? It is usually the super slow white Tundras that make that noise. It is their joints trying to move but they move like an old man at a Denny’s breakfast.

It's actually a nice feature that a self check is performed.

Just glad it isn't an issue haha. Really weird though I never experienced this with any other car. Granted this would be my first v8.

Noticed this too on my new tundra. Had to search this forum to ease my mind.

Also to save you some time searching or posting - truck will randomly buzz after sitting parked and not running for some time. Don’t freak out it’s a normal fuel pressure check or something along those lines. That’s another subject that this forum helped to quickly relieve my anxiety.

    No no no no no!

You start a new thread when you have questions. For your penance you will start a new thread about which engine oil is best for your truck. Depending upon how well that goes you may be required to follow up with what size tire you can run without rubbing.

I have never noticed this brake check bump in my 2007, but the doors lock automatically when my speed hits about 12 mph.
