Do the Toyota TRD Pro Shocks need to be rebuilt after a certain amount of miles or time?
    Thanks!

All shocks have a lifespan. From what I've read, generally 70k is about when you can expect to replace/rebuild shocks.

By that time I would replace them with Kings, Fox or ADS. ADS shocks are a work of art and tough as shit!

The Fox Pro shocks are not rebuildable, same as the previous Bilstein Pro version. They are throw away and replace.

I was wondering but assumed, being Fox, that they'd be rebuildable.

If someone was hellbent, you could in theory add a nitrogen fill port, but parts would be a big problem.

Not according to Fox. I emailed them a few months ago and they said they are rebuildable and the cost will comparable to 1st gen Raptor suspension

I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one. My 2017 is getting close to the 70k mark. I'm not sure if it is actually riding different or if I'm telling myself it is to justify swapping out parts. Can I buy a new set of the TRD Pro Fox stuff from some vendor? If I can, I swear I can't find it and I can usually find anything. I've also toyed with the idea of 6112/5160??? I'm just not sure the high end suspension(King, ADS, etc.) is the way I want to go. When I swap it out, I don't want leaks or have to take them off and have a nitrogen fill done. Maybe I've just read only the bad posts about those particular ones, and they are in fact the way to go. I'm not as concerned about the price as I am the ease of replacement. If it is as good as or a little better than what I have now, I'm happy. I just want to swap and go another 70k before I do this again. Thanks for any advice/help

Yes you can buy Pro shocks using your pro vin#. They are not cheap.

WOW!! That's pretty pricey. I appreciate that. Not real sure why I couldn't find that. I guess the reading and research begins now to come up with the best option.

If you want to keep is OEM I say buy a set. I have been thinking about getting a set when my pro shocks go. I like the thought of OEM bolt on that rip off road.

Yeah I do too. Like I said, I just want something as good as what I have now with no headaches. There are lots of other choices out there but when I read about someone having to take them back off after 3 days of running because they are leaking...... or, something is off with the nitrogen fill that needs to be corrected?? Maybe those are isolated cases but I'm not sure I want to venture down that road.
