Toyota trifold bed cover or another bed cover considering they are about the same price?

Got a price for the trifold cover and it was $802 from a local dealer. At that price would you guys go with the one from the dealer or another brand that would use the pre-installed rails?

Almost went with the dealer installed option, but I opted for the Extang Encore, which is about the same price. You have to get the rail relocation kit if you have toyota bed rails. I didn’t.

It looks very similar to the OEM option, but has one feature I needed, one section can open from the back. I back into my garage and don’t have room to flip tailbate down. OEM model (and most) you cannot open unless you open tailgate first. Happy with it so far.

I've been reasearching several months and have it narrowed down. The Toyota tri-fold is not on my short list. I don't know anything bad about it-- just, no one's ever raved about it being great. And, for the money, I want as close to great as I can buy. Locking, no leaks, and opens from either end. So, not the Toyota option.

I like the quality look of the extang much better than the OEM I had on my Tacoma, so that’s what I put on my Tundra.

Will the extag solid 2 use the factory installed bed rails?

Mine did. Just make sure you buy the option with bed rails.

I have the Toyota tri fold, not worth the purchase, it's beautiful and dry, but u can only use 2/3 of ur bed length as it does not fold up to the glass as my first tonneau did with my previous truck. That 1/3 sacrifice is huge if u like to use your full bed, and it's difficult to open the hinges as they do not have a string to unhinge the locks on both sides, so u have to open it on both sides before lifting the cover, kinda tedious and time delaying.
