So since I bought my Tundra new last year, I get emails from Toyota, asking me to take a survey about my vehicle. I get one every 2 months or so.

The one I answered today was about grab handles, the technical term is "oh shit handle". Asked me how often I use one, my passengers usage, garment hangers and the like.
I've had ones about mirrors and visibility, lighting, mpg/power, ergonomics, etc.

Of course I answer everything with how I want the truck to be and how it should be when it leaves the factory. Their goal obviously is to get as much feedback for the next model year. Last year I received the one about lighting and I answered with every light needs to be LEDs. So you 2018 owners can thank me for doing that for you. :D;)

Anyone else receive these e-mail surveys? Which ones?

I'm curious how many people here received them and have answered them.

Jose, Toyota must know we are messed up from the info they took on the survey. Haha.

@Baja Mike , did you own a 2nd gen and tell them they should change the rear seat configuration to ditch the reclining option on the CrewMax?? Many people are looking for that guy...... Haha

I had one email about my 2nd gen. I loved that truck so much, I'm pretty sure I said "dont change anything!"

    Flux capacitor!
I received a Toyota survey for my 2017 Tundra a few weeks ago. It was a very long survey. It went through every aspect of the truck from exterior, interior, comfort, quality, likes & dislikes. It went through every level of concern over any issues. I filled out the survey completely and told them about various things I would like to see on a future Tundra.

    1. A better stereo system instead of the JBL (my only major dislike in a Tundra)
    2. All interior switches to be lighted (mirror controls)
    3. Have reclining rear seats again.
    4. Have a more solid fastener system for the driverside lower kick-panel. Out of the last four Tundras I've owned they have all slid off the grove for the door seal.
    5. Offer projector headlights as an option
    6. Remote start as an option

That happened with me too. It was about 2 months before I got my first one. Maybe it's just a random system they have or maybe the dealership.

I got one like that but not from Toyota. Too many questions about how many people ride in my truck and crap like that. Got part way through and trashed it. Not from Toyota. It was a 3rd party. I gave sales person a list of stuff on an email including the fact that I was pissed that finance tried to rip me off for $599 not once but twice. She said if I ding finance on survey she does not get paid. I have not seen or survey or anything from dealer or Toyota. Someone at dealer did send an email that I would be getting a packet on Toyota Care. After 2 months I emailed her and still have seen nothing. Strange that I have gotten no follow up at all from dealer. I gave them 1 star and statement that they were unprofessional on Yelp.

I hope I get a survey about the dealership. Worse experience ever. Lie after lie. I'm still waiting on the truck to be delivered so I can't give any reviews on the truck itself.

I just got another. This one asked about how often I haul stuff in the bed which led to asking about lighting in the bed.
It asked where I want the most light i.e. front of the bed, the sides, the tailgate. They even had pictures of mods people have done with LED light strips.

If Toyota follows my suggestions they're be installing a small lighthouse in the bed.

Nice to see that they question owners of their product to get advice and user information for changes and improvements.

That’s another survey I’d be glad to enrol in, that way I don’t have to tell them to their faces what a bunch of muppets they are, goes in one ear and out the other

Gen 2 Tacos lack any kind of bed lighting so I added my own. In my opinion the most useful bed lighting is the overhead light on back of cab. It just needs to be brighter which I fixed with LEDs. Light inside bed is worthless if you have anything in there.

    Got another one today.

It asked about thing I want to improve on my vehicle. Headlights, interior lights, transmission, engine, fuel economy, etc.

It also asked if I talk about my Toyota on blogs or websites and how often I visit them. So I wrote down Tundras.com and on a daily basis. Hopefully they will look here to see what we all want changed/fixed/replaced on the Tundra. And hopefully the idiot who decided it was a good idea to put chrome inside the truck joins and we can collectively tear him a new asshole.

It's the norm for almost every business nowadays. The ones that you should always pay close attention to, are those that they send you and it's 100+ questions. And they ask you to participate in a focus group for their R&D. :)

Yup, that’s the big leagues my brother. If you agree to full participation, then, you’re hooked. :rofl:I sillily agreed once, and they would not stop bothering me. So, I had to cancel me participation.

Somebody tell them to drop the price on new Tundras to under $30K Canadian pesos. I might be able to justify buying a new one then. :D

    Just got another one.

This one asked about bed access. Sited the AMP Research foldable steps in the back and the side of the bed and asked if I wanted them to be foot operated (kicking it) push button, or operated when the tailgate comes down.

Then is asked about the tailgate showing the Ford step and the new GMC gate with 6 configurations.

It asked if I was willing to pay extra for those options. Of course I said yes! Toyota needs to step up their game.

Looks like Toyota isn't quite done designing the next gen Tundra.
