Effectiveness of the traps was never an issue. Humane or not, I caught a mouse every single time I put a trap out, sometimes within an hour or 2. I just don't want to deal with setting and emptying a trap every day. I just want them dead, all of them dead.

We had a resident bullfrog for a few weeks, maybe months. He would shelter in our landscaping during the day and go swimming at night. He was fun to watch and the dogs like to bark at him.

One night our son found him dead at the bottom of the pool with the head of a small dead snake in his mouth.
We like to think he was protecting us. LOL

Aw man that sucks. He probably overloaded his ballast system. We've had several over the years, drove the dogs nuts. Always entertaining. Plus they could launch six feet from the top of the water into the landscaping.

We have to trap rats from time to time. Not sure what is worse, rats or mice.

Our neighbor has fruit trees, so the rats just keep coming. I keep three commercial traps out loaded with these.

Yea, first year. I've found a couple snakes and a few frogs that had gotten water logged. I live out in the middle of fields, so it'll be more mice and snakes than anything else. Not many props with moles/voles. I typically check it every couple days quick so that it doesn't get too gross. No trees/landscaping near it, so no issues with catching all that

I am sure it was an epic battle! Bullfrog trying to drown the snake with the snakes head in his mouth whilst the snake was coiled around the frog trying to constrict him. Neither were going to lose that night.......

When you said it I remember the pictures. Even though our pool is full sun all afternoon we have a lot of old trees around. Skimmers get emptied twice a day this time of year.

We have a bunch of Great Horned Owls living in the trees in the house directly behind us. I counted 6 in April, but there could be more. I thought it was pretty badass, but there is always owl pellets and carcasses all over my yard. And I read they can be super aggressive and attack.
