I'd love to own a Ski Nautique but I'm not made of money and my wife doesn't like boating or water skiing enough to justify it.

So I gave up trying to find a contractor willing to take my money for building my deck. To hell with them. I came up with a design and took it to the codes/permit office today. The code officer gave me a couple tips and informally approved the design. Permit has been applied for and barring any issues should be approved by the end of the week.

I'm putting together a full material list with costs now and I'm hoping to buy material and break ground on my next days off. Nice thing about doing it myself is I can space the materials purchase out and not have to pay up front for everything, softening the financial hit.

Now I gotta go shopping for a 10" mitre saw and stand. My heart says Bosch. My wallet says Ridgid...

My dad's outboard doesn't burn much gas when we're skiing (though it does prefer premium) but that beast would definitely be a different story.

What happens to me is similar, but I go ahead and post it with the idea it’s valid and then delete it the next day or so when it’s really obvious that nobody gives a fuck. That way, I NEVER feel good about it…

I'm planning on keeping it after I finish the deck. I have other projects I'll use it for. I won't be running it hard like a professional. I just like to buy once, cry once.

Looks like this. Definitely ski boat - not wakeboard.

    Hell yeah!
He put a tower on it as well, I asked for pics, hopefully he can find some.
I think they all started out skiing as kids and then worked their way up to wakeboards, so they just kept it I guess

Mitre saw has been found. A friend is downsizing and selling off a bunch of his shop tools. Buying a Craftsman 12" saw and stand for $300. Tough to beat that.

I think the one at Apache has a 351. The lady who owns it was my oldest son’s preschool teacher. Just happen to run across them floating in party cove the second trip out with the boat. Small world.

    Well, well, well...
My 5 day kidney stone weekend has turned into a projected 39-day short-term disability stint.
Two of those weeks will be scheduled vacations July 2 - 17.

I've had intense lower back pain the last 2 days.
I don't think it's the kidney stone, after having a televisit with the back Doc's PA, it could be the healing of the abatement.
Told them I can't take any pain meds or muscle relaxers as long as I'm working since I drive for a living.
They agreed to OK going on disability.

The second abatement, right side, is next Friday.
That will give it all time to heal before I go back to work sitting for 11 hours a day..:D

Been on the phone talking to doctor's offices, my employer, and 2 insurance companies all day to get my disability started.
I'd stopped taking my Aleve the day of the stone with all the crap they had me taking.
Took my Aleve around 2 today and already feel better.
I'll see what happens in the morning, it is always when the pain is at its worse..

But I'll be fine, I can take meds now and not worry about going to work..

    Life is good:confused:

I hope your union is stronger than mine.

I started out on heroin and meth. Moved up to pot and cigars. Next thing I knew it was cutting classes and sneaking into the theater. Now I’m hopelessly on a dead end track where I’m capable of farting in public and wiping my nose on my sleeve. I fear that the day may come when I use a salad fork while eating a steak. Please pray for me. Maybe send me money, …

    That sucks! I'm sorry!

AZ is a right to work state too. We have a union at our work. It's pretty lame most of the time. They seem to help a little with the typical personnel issues but they are worthless with bargaining.

No I got a CT scan at the ER for the stone.
The report states a 5mm kidney stone stuck between my right kidney and bladder.
I felt it work its way down over the weekend without severe pain.
I just don't know if I passed it yet.

This back pain radiates down the back of my thighs to my knees.
It could be I've been laying around for a few days.
Laying down seems the be the worst thing I can do for my back.
My pain is at its worse when I get out of bed in the morning.

The CT scan report also says I have gallstones, I didn't tell the wife that part.
I read up on them and there is nothing to do unless they move and block something up.

Hope to get my truck back soon.
This will give me time to install my Vahalla shields, the bed step and Hotshot tail lights I got for Xmas, and my Meso interior lights..

I'd bet my wife already has the wheels turning on things she wants to be done while I'm off..:D

I'm already feeling better knowing I don't have to go to work for a month,.

    I'm good.
Might have to go ahead and take a half of hydrocodone with a beer if the pain starts again.
They gave me 12, I've only taken one, split it in 2 for 2 doses.

Joke all y'all want, laughter is the best medicine I hear...

I know my back won't let me lay around being lazy. That's a sure-fire way to make my back blow up.

Gallstones too? Let's hope they just sit there & don't move.

A month off. Get help on the shields. They're heavy enough that installing them solo with a hurt back will not be nice after you are done installing them alone.

Dammit, triple whammy. Hopefully you feel good enough to get some stuff done while you're off. But don't be a tough guy idiot, says a sometimes tough guy idiot.
In 2003 I had spinal fusion up high. Doc said no driving for 3 months. After 10 days I was stir crazy so I went for a drive. At the end of the block I realized I couldn't look left or right. Long one block return trip.

Also, if you do have to get the gallstones removed, be aware if you want to keep them in a jar you have to sign a waiver that says you won't eat them. At least my friend had to.

Management at the union site I worked at previously was weak. They were on the verge of locking the union out when they couldn't negotiate a new agreement and at the 11th hour they just backed down and agreed to everything the union wanted.
