Agreed. Supdef was making these available a few times a year but they got a C&D so the prices have gone way up. I don’t recommend buying anything from eBay. eBay can kiss my ass.

Took a trip down to Port Lavaca with some friends for a little R&R. Fishing, food, bourbon, cigars, good conversation, and I left my giveashitter at home. We'd hoped to catch something fun to eat; but as it turns out Alcoa dumped more than 60lbs of mercury per DAY into the bay between the mid 60's and early 80's, and maybe just no. Did catch quite a few catfish, and my buddy caught a shark, so it was still a fun time.

Back to the grind tomorrow.

 

I had to take a drug test at work the other day. They said they found Opiates. I told them it was probably the poppy seeds on my bagel. But then they asked about the THC, methamphetamines, cocaine, and hallucinogens. Told them it was an everything bagel.

 

Still sounds like a damn good time. What kind of shark? Small blacktip are very good eating

 

Bonnethead. He wasn't any bigger than the cats we were catching - - maybe 30" long and 10 or so lbs; but still over the min length to keep. Never eaten one, but just now The Google says they're edible. We'll be making more trips to the coast, but to places we can eat our catch.

Not sure what's happened in the past 15 years or so; but back then you could drive over the causeway to the north end of North Padre Island at Corpus Christi, and the beach road south ended at 15 miles or so. Then if you have a Tundra, keep driving until you can't see people. Then camp, fish, shoot guns, and generally do whatever you like. That'll likely be us in the fall. I'll have to get a bit of overland gear. Darn.
