5800lbs is pretty dang heavy, plus we all know how under stated the current model tundra weight is. Real life they weigh a lot more than curb weight

BigArt, where can I find the payload ratings for the other models?

Well dang, TIL. I found a thread you commented in from around April pointing out the calculated difference in curb weight using GVWR and payload on the sticker. Then the guy went and weighed the truck on 3rd party scales to confirm his mostly stock truck is weighing in over 6000lbs...

It only lists "maximum payload", not actual configured payload.

I built two identical SR5, DC, LB - one with the minimum package and one with the highest available package, both are specified as a "maximum payload" of 1,885 lbs.

The payload would obviously be several hundred pounds different between the two trucks.

I think it was more of a move weight around than make the truck lighter. They used aluminum on certain panels and composite bed, but then they added weight in other areas. Especially with the hybrid. Personally, I am fine with a heavier truck as I think it will tow better.
