I hope y’all are having a good weekend. I am mid-install on my Boost tow mirrors.

I have already run the single wire for the white rear-facing LEDs into the cab and am looking for advice on how best to hook it up to the cargo light switch. Any thoughts?

    I appreciate the help,

    - CD

Something like this, but without all if the rock lights.

I have a cargo light pig tail adaptor to illuminate other switches (below) but not sure it would be enough amp / volts to power those from the existing current draw. Also not the application for your solution as it doesn't control on / off

Some info in the below as well -

edit: Maybe this OP could think of something. he can do a lot more than brake taps.

Plug and Play Brake taps | Toyota Tundra Forum (tundras.com)

Probably have to tap into a different location for the function your wanting.

@Taco-Spike I think I’m looking for a simpler solution. I’m hoping to find the right wire to tap. I’ve seen some folks on the forum say pink is the wire I’m looking for, and others say brown. Do you know which wire it is? I suck with schematics too.

Hit the wiring diagram thread in my signature. I’m not where i can pull them up right this minute…if you’re looking to just grab the hot (power) heading to the cargo light so they are on whenever you have cargo lights on, then it is a specific wire out of the 3K connector (should be pink, but that’s not as guaranteed as the specific terminal number).

I answered the same question a little while ago - connector 3K, pin 28

Hot damn, @RainMan_PNW . I think that’s exactly what I’m looking for. Much appreciated.

Will wait report back after the sun dips a little. I’ve had enough sunburn for the day.

@RainMan_PNW I’ve taken two pictures of the harnesses in the dash. It doesn’t look like my colors line up with the pin positions. I even tried to meter at the switch and (seemingly) all of the wires, but I could never hit 12v. The bed switch was on.

OK - here’s a snip from the cargo light EWD - the wire is supposed to be pink in 2018+, and lavender/red in 2017/2016, but colors aren’t always right.

Here’s what the connector looks like. When seeing these diagrams, the view is looking at the connector face, not the back where the wires are entering it.
    upload_2021-5-29_21-13-28.jpg

So, in your first photo, the top connector is 3K. And the circled wire is in terminal 28. That should be your power to the cargo light from the cargo light relay.

Let there be light @RainMan_PNW !
Here’s what was throwing me off:

    1. I was looking at the plug wrong.
    2. I’m profoundly colorblind.

...I mean, maaaaaaaybe #2 played a factor, but who knows.

You have made my first post on this forum a success. Thanks, dude. Toyota folks are the best.
