My torque wrenches are Snap-On ATECH wrenches. Don’t know why, but I really don’t like usin them for torquing lug nuts. Anyone have any experience with the Precision Instruments split beam?

    Thanks

My 3/4” torque wrench is a precision instruments. I have nothing bad to say about it. I use a Snap On Techwrench to torque wheels.

They cost so much I just hate using them for lug nut duty. The 1/2” has gone up $50 since I bought them. I know it won’t hurt it, but it just seems like lug nut duty is “beneath it”. Of course they are treated well like they should be.

I use my Snap On for lug nuts. :anonymous: I carry a cheap torque wrench for off roading though.

Sounds like I just need to relax a little and use what I have.

3 times a lady....(off the ground) 1, snug first in a star pattern and make sure all is sitting well on the hub, 2, then tighten in same star pattern, 3, then with tire on ground, tighten the @#$% out of it........in the same star pattern.

I don't think I'd phrase it quite like that...... But you spent good money on a quality tool to do a job. Spent good money on a quality truck.... Seems like a match made in heaven.
Where, other than the Snap On truck, can we get our torque wrenches calibrated? That Snap On guy never drives by my house.:D

He doesn’t drive by mine either. Of course if he did, the “truck budget” would be a lot smaller or even non existent!

So true! Guess I should be thankful for that instead of disappointed.

Hey, Lugnuts are one of the most important things that should be torqued properly. A good torque wrench being used for that is exactly what it’s for LOL. No reason to buy a cheaper torque wrench for that.

I agree. That just means more money for parts! I believe there are painted front bumper ends in the near future.
