Since the screw is close to the outside wall can this be patched. Currently it does not appear to be losing any air.

That is a close one. I think the hole has to be 1” away from the sidewall.

I don't think screws/nails that insert themselves into tires are covered.

If it’s not leaking it’s possible the screw is too short to have punctured the tire. Until you pull it out you will not know. You may be worrying about fixing something that ain’t broke.

Wherever you take it will tell you if it can be repaired. Might be just the excuse you need for bigger tires. :D

I had something similar at 3k miles so I had them patch the tire and swap the tire with the spare tire (they are the same). I wouldn't want to put 30k+ on that tire, but to use in a pinch on my spare rim was a sensible option. The $40 I spent on that was a hell of a lot cheaper than $200 for the new tire.

Take some soapy water and see if it's leaking, if not, pull the thing out. A shop won't patch it, but you could plug it.

There is a difference between a patch and a plug FYI.

I agree with @COMiamiFan the Philips head has probably worn off

I went to tug on the screw a little and heard air come out. Time to make sure I know how to use the tire jack and other tools on the Tundra to change the tire because you all
know that the tire will go flat during a week long server thunder storm.
