Would you buy and have tires installed at WalMart? I’m looking at some BFG KO2’s and their price is considerably lower than some other big tire stores ($35/tire). Do you know if they include alignment, rotations, etc? The only reason I’d consider Wally World is because we move frequently and they’re everywhere. Only other option is Toyota but I’d have to give them my left nut.

I have bought tires from Walmart before and there was nothing wrong with them. However, I was told, and I don't know if it is true, that the tire manufacturers make special tires for Walmart at a lower price point. So, the BFG AT tire might look the same, but the rubber compound might not be the same as what you get elsewhere. As I said, it might be just a rumor, but I would look into that if I had to buy expensive tires. The ones I bought were a Good Year Viva or something that was only available at Walmart, and at a very good price which worked for a beater DD. BFG KO2s might be the real thing.

Why not price match and go to a more reputable tire place like Discount Tire?

I have got tires from wal mart and have had them mounted there. I trust the techs there the same as any other shop. I watch them and check them in the lot. But I never had a problem. They do have lifetime rotate and balance. I have used it one time on my jeep.

I wouldn’t trust there techs but I would trust there product. But I’m picky about who does anything on my truck.

As stated. Discount will absolutely price match pretty much anyone except Ebay.

The only draw back I would see with Walmart is they will only install stock tires that are listed on the door frame,
(at least with our local store). Other than that it is fine

Yep, and Walmart is a good deal up there because of the shear quantity of tires Walmart barges up to Anchorage. The local tire shops are good but can't beat Walmart pricing. The local tire shops are quite busy though due to custom work that Walmart can't and won't touch.

Dropped a vehicle off once at WM to get tires rotated while i did some shopping. Was going to be like $8-10, seemed like a good idea. About 20 minutes later I am being paged by automotive. I thought they were done, but they needed to inform me that they couldn't get any of the lugs off and wanted to know what to do. I was dumbfounded, asked them to show me. They proceeded to show me the impact having no "Impact" on the lugs. I ask them if they had a lug wrench and they looked really confused. I just politely told them to cancel the job and get it off the lift. Never considered them again for anything.

yep, from my understanding they just have a unique name. I know they use to have some Goodyear ATs that were Wally World exclusives.

I had a set of those. Goodyear Wrangler AT/D, haven't seen them for years which is good because they were garbage. I swear they'd break loose parked in the rain.

I bought four sets of tires from Wal-Mart and had them installed there as well.

Mine twice which were Wrangler AT, My friend which were the same tire for her Xterra and my wife.

    Never had any issue

All the store very by location.

I once got a set of Duratracs from WM many years ago. Price was good and install went well.

I just bought a set of Goodyear Wrangelr AT/S 275/55/20 about 6 months ago...mounted and balanced at Wal Mart a little under $600. Haven't had a bit of trouble out of them. I like the look and the drive

They weren't even terribly aggressive though. About the only thing they did moderately well was dry pavement. Fortunately I didn't buy them, they were on the truck when I bought it.

This is a used one but the only decent pic I found.

Walmart has great prices for mounting and balancing. I think it is $15 per tire.

I normally stick with Discount Tire. Walmart prices never seem competitive when it comes to tires.
