Has anyone had any experience with the Timbren SES on their 3rd gen tundra. I have a 2017 double cab that I'm pulling a 30' toy hauler with. I have the WDH but it still sags quite a bit in the rear. Tongue weight is 850 lbs. the trailer comes in at 7100lbs empty and with my triumph bonneville in the back and all our essentials I'm figuring that I'm probably upwards of 9000 lbs. Would the Timbren work to level out the truck or do I need to go with the air bags. for the money the Timbrens would be a pretty cheap way to go if they'll do the job.
    thanks for any advice20170429_154550.jpg

I have experience with Summo springs, similar concept super easy install. If you call them, the will have you measure and set you up with the perfect system. Very durable product improves stability when of roading as well. https://www.supersprings.com/products/sumosprings/

I have the timbrens on my truck. They work just as advertised. The only thing is your riding on them when towing so you can feel just about every bump. They will help level it but wont lift it. If I had to do it again from the start I would just get the bags and be done.

thanks, good info. I saw some posts in here with people using the bags. Just worried they would get beat up on the fire roads during hunting season. Feeling every bump on a 17 hour drive does not seem worth it. We are heading to Ashville in October and I'm not sure how bad the roads are over there not to mention all the hills in the mountains. I'm thinking comfort is my main goal. I also saw some posts with the compressor mounted by the engine. this would probably work best for my application since I also pull a boat and at times the back end is in the water. Shouldn't bother the bags though.
    thanks

I'll agree, Timbrens are a good solution for temporary situations. Hauling one off loads and such but for long distance stuff the airbags are well worth the cost.

Good points, air bags work as advertised, hard to beat however they are prone to breakage, I punctured two on my last Tundra over 7 years and had a few hose leaks; seems like always when I needed the hauling capability for a hunting trip. You are towing a lot of weight, it's a give and take, I'm am not maxing out/bottoming out the Summo springs with my load so they work great, if any thing improve the ride and I have the lightest duty version of the them. Good luck it's nice we all these innovations and options these days.

Hey, thanks for the feedback on the sumosprings. I had a set on my Tacoma.

Which set did you install on your Tundra? I see there are two weight options. Ride comfort is important unloaded as well as loaded. In my Tacoma, they did stiffen the ride unloaded, but actually raised the back a bit so I was always riding on them.

Hard to find reviews for these on the Tundra. It's a great simple solution if they ride ok.

Thanks for any thoughts! Mainly looking to keep stock ride quality when unloaded and help with bed sag when towing/hauling without the maintenance of airbags.

Well I went with the Summo Springs, I went with the mid-weight option, 1500lbs. Works great and didn't really effect the ride when not loaded, as an added benefit the truck does not lean nearly as much in cornering so it feels a bit more sporty. Seems to work like a sway bar. Overall very happy with the performance for the price. With the trailer on the drop is a bit under 2 inches now but the truck handles much better pulling the TH.

    How was the install?
They mount with the factory U-bolts or U-bolts included?

Looking for an airbag alternative. Thanks.

just took the trailer out around the block after the install to see how it handled. Planning a long trip in October, heading down south. should have some more feedback then. overall very satisfied compared to stock springs.

@karlsters take out the factory bumpstops and install these correct? What rating or color sumospring did you get for the tundra? Happen to have a pic of the model number?

@karlsters how does your tundra handle that TH with the sumosprings now?
I am going to look at a 28' Jayco TH this weekend. Empty weight about 7k. I am really on the fence with the weight, I wanted less weight, but I don't want less space.
Did you consider going with the 2800lb rated sumosprings?

I installed the 1500lb Sumo Springs yesterday. Easy install.
I'll have to report back on feel, the truck needs an alignment right now after a UCA install same day.

    Timbren bump stops
I have a 2014 Tundra towing a 7500 TT w/ Equ-l-izer LEH w/10k bars, TRD sway bar and Timbren bump stops. The Timbrens are big improvement from stock, w/o the maintenance of air bags. We have towed 2500 mi. w/ this set-up. The set-up does not effect the ride at all w/o the trailer hook-up. I am looking to upgrade shocks, any suggestions?

What U really need is a 3/4 ton truck. Please let me know if U are ever towing in NM, CO or AZ so I can be sure to stay off the road. Thanks !
