Just thought I would share this... Did you know that the dealer on the other end can read what you are typing, AS YOU TYPE IT.... They see what you are saying BEFORE you submit or hit enter. If you type something and then delete it before submitting, they see all that

They also know your location, how long you were on their website, and what vehicles you have looked it while there. They clearly have the edge. Be careful.

I had some fun with one a while back. Chatting about a '21 Pro they were asking $100k for. I'm on a VPN, by the way.

Not all of them. I was chatting with a real live person, we had quite the conversation going. I know at first its usually a bot, but if you get connected to a real person, just know the advantage they have.

Use a VPN. Always start with “ I know what you did last night…”

Just to make sure everyone is aware - it's usually a real personal that you reach via such chat, and it's a very low level staffer whose job is to get your contact information for a real sales rep to follow up with you, and of course their ultimate goal is to get you into the dealership, and not waste any of their time talking over phone or chat

No its not. They use chat bot functionality to weed out common questions or to get you over to the right department during business hours without the need of someone to constantly sit at the computer.

In my experience, every chat bot I have communicated with only asked my for my contact info and what would be the best way to reach me. They wouldnt answer any meaningful questions through the chat.

Yeah, those are definitely out there in full force. I at the beginning stages of setting one up for my job. All I can say is garbage in, garbage out. The setup involves what you want the capability of it to be and what phrases or key words you want it to hit on and where to take the customer in the environment.

Lol. Those chats are with real people, however, they do not work at the dealership. They are third party companies hired by the dealer just to collect information and pass the lead on to an actual person at the dealership. They cannot answer any actual questions you have such as price/availability so don't waste too much of your time on them.

Those chat boxes are a waste of time, call or email the dealer...
