    ‘24 Limited Nightshade (Silver)
    Long story short - almost bought a ‘22 Tundra but was scared off by the waste gate issue. Sat still and now looking at a ‘24 Limited Nightshade at a local dealer. Non-hybrid. But seems like the ‘24 model year still plagued with waste gate issue and perhaps the engine recall, even though the recall hasn’t extended to that year yet. Wondering if I should just wait for the ‘25, but the rate and terms for the ‘24 are as low as I have seen for a Toyota in a long time (in Ontario, Canada 4.59% over 72 months — have rarely seen lower than 7.99% in like last two years). Thoughts?

    As a VERY new Tundra owner as in 1 week and almost 150 miles lol I was in the exact same boat as you. I just came to the conclusion that Toyota will make things right….eventually. They have to much lose by not taking care of the customer on such big issues. For Prius as an example the inverter is known to have issues so Toyota extended the warranty on those to like 20 years of something silly. It may take them some time, but they will get the issues fixed and do right by the customer(I believe). And I do not believe the 24’s are having the issues seen in the 22 and 23’s. They have a new part # for the short block, a late 24 build should have that installed already

    That's great advice. I imagine the likelihood of a 24 being solid at this point is high. Chances should be even higher with 25s. Up until the recided power message I got this week my 22 has been solid for 43k miles.

    I debated my purchase as well on the 2024 but ultimately purchased the Toyota. Considered other manufacturers as always but felt the Toyota was the best fit for me. I am 4K miles and haven’t had any issues.

    Not everybody is independently wealthy like you are Hella. I would say go for a 24 if the deal is right. Toyota will fix it if it breaks. The 25s won't have as good of deals as the 24s right now. If you see something you like, get it, take the deal. It may suck if something goes wrong, but at least you'll be paying less, and Toyota will fix it. The 25s come with a price increase, and I would imagine less incentives. Get it while the gettin's good.

    It would seem (To Me) to be most prudent to wait for a 2025. Perhaps order it, and get it the way you want. In the future, there will be no question as to whether your vehicle was in the range of vehicles subject to engine failures when it comes time for you to sell or trade.

    The waste gate was short lived and the engine (recall) is finally making some headway,I'm a optimistic individual...

    With that said and also mentioned above I would wait for a 2025.
    But If your happy with that percentage rate and the vehicle that's there and has what you want I guess go for it.

    Personally I would build a 2025 and get exactly everything you want plus when you do this there's no bullshit from the salesman,because we all know that they have your best interests at hart.

    No, the '24s do NOT have a waste gate issue. So, if you want a deal go for a '24. If you don't care about saving, wait for a '25 since those should drop soon.

    Just a point of clarification guys

    you can’t “order” a Toyota , you can only tell the dealer what you want and see if they get allocated that or can dealer trade for it

    7500 miles in on a 10/23 build '24.
    Only issues:
    Squealing brakes when reversing and inaccurate fuel gage. Has been flawless otherwise.

    Wastegate and engine recall are non-issues at this point. (Flame suit zipped up.):crapstorm:
    Pricing went up across the board for '25 and nothing significant to show for it feature-wise.
    You'll get a better deal on an end-of-year '24.

    Their are some great deals on 24 models right now and pretty good finance rates from Toyota Financial right now as well if you qualify. The 25's went up in price and they aren't going to have those great deals initially. Go with what your gut says my friend.

    If waiting is an option, I would wait for the '25's. The further removed you are from the earlier problematic year models, the better your resale vale will be later on.

    Mine wasn't....just sat and waited 14 months until I found the identical truck at a dealer 6 hours away, bought it sight unseen. Drove up the next day, turned and drove it straight back home. The drive home was much more enjoyable

    Same here same build date same mileage. Don't have squeaky brakes yet .little bit of window rattle. I would jump on the deals and get a great truck for a great price.

    Depending on the build date on the one you're looking at i'd go with the 24 with the current incentives and interest rate. You'd have to imagine anything built May or later is what they'll be running for the 2025's and there is no guarantee you'll get the same incentives and interest rate. Or maybe you could get better incentive and a lower interest rate, who knows. If you see the truck you like and it's what you want to pay i'd go for it. I just got a 2024 SR5 TRD-OR (July build date) $4K off and 1.99% for 48 months.

    Welp, in typical fashion, I got hosed on my interest rate when I bought my 24 back in January - 5.99%. Now they are down sub 3%. Of course, Toyota won't let you refinance an existing Toyota loan so it looks like I'll be going elsewhere to lower my rate and shorten my term.

    2012 Platinum Tundra. Leveled/Tires/Wheels/Tonneau, other than that fully stock . I love my 22 Hybrid, just understand there is zero MPG savings over 65 MPH

    The only annoying noise mine has so far (2,500 miles) is one of the driver’s door speakers that sounds like shit. Not sure if it’s rattling in the door somehow or the speaker is just that bad.

    Either my hearing is just that bad, (entirely possible, still listen to the '80's/90's/aught's devil music too loud) :headbang: :rockband: or I got an exceptionally quiet truck.
    Rear slider window has a slight rattle that comes and goes when partially down, totally quiet either full up or full down.
    No speaker rattles noticed yet even at previously mentioned elevated levels.
