Since this forum seems to really love this stuff, I thought it would be appropriate to post here.

This is a pretty sweet article giving a brief history of Blaster. Sounds like a solid company run by solid people, giving us even more reason to support them.

I was introduced to B'laster when I lived in Tampa back in the late 80's. I had a 73 Beetle I was resurrecting and one of the guys I worked with used it and told me to try it out. We didn't have it at Delta (wasn't on the approved chemical list) so I bought a can and have been a fan ever since. I do use Kroil, but I bring out the "Big Gun" when needed.

    Great article

Blaster came in 2nd to last on the Project Farm test for penetrants. Who knows how reliable that test is. Kroil came in dead last but I've had good luck with it.

Either way, great article. I enjoyed reading it. Im glad they haven't sold out.

I’m a big fan of Mopar rust penetrant since it comes with a straw in a controlled spray that doesn’t get all over everything else. Liquid wrench is like this but that stuff quickly becomes unusable for some reason after 1/2 can is used.

I’ve got an old Liquid Wrench applicator bottle with the pointy tip that I’ve saved and refill with the Blaster. The bottle tip allows for precise drops in those hard to reach spots where you don’t want the over spray going everywhere. You are right in that both seem the same when comparing the two in a smell test.

Made me think back to when I first used PB...'86, iirc, doing weekends at brother's garage and the store was out of Liquid Wrench, so I grabbed the PB. Is it wrong to say I like the smell?

Dont know about the PB stuff but I'h been using acetone and ATF fluid.. 1:1 ratio and it works great. Just put in a clear spray bottle and your are set. Just shake the bottle if its kept on the shelf for a while at it tends to separate.

Do you mean it loses its propellant, so you have a half-full can that won't spray?

PB for general use, I prefer it to WD. Kroil is a bit harsh, has a strong chemical odor. Don't use it for the same things I use PB for. Only for eating through really established corrosion to break something free, and only if the PB failed. Which is rare.

PB all the way for me, can't say how many times it's saved the day... probably well into the 100s. Sometimes I'll douse fasteners days prior.

I've had the same problem in the past with a few cans of WD-40. I recharge them with my air compressor. Remove the spray head from the can. The rubber tip of my blow gun (the black screw-on tip in the pic) fits the nozzle on the can perfectly. It takes VERY little air to recharge.

I've been saving up my Positive Vibes Credítz. I'm hoping to have enough by next year to redeem them for an all-expenses-paid week at the @Professional Hand Model topical island getaway!

Same here. I made up a batch and keep it in pump oiler can with long nozzle. I found references around the net to a study done on penetrating lubricants for machinists workshop magazine back in 2007 or thereabouts.
