Another small update. I take this as a small win for finally finding the lug nuts I have been looking for. I originally picked up a set of Dorman lug nuts from Oreilly's auto to get my wheels on. This was roughly 6mos ago. Anyway, those things SUCK! They started rusting in less that 3-4 months and I hadn't even wheeled the truck. I was finally able to find the kit part number for the gorilla lug nuts and ordered them up from Summit Racing.

In case someone is wondering, the part number is 26143ETBC and is available through Summit. This is for the whole set.

I replaced the shitty Dorman ones and compared them to the extended thread and longer Gorrilla lugs. Pure beef.

Old lugs VS New lugs. I really dig the change.

Badass rig man, I agree with you that the tundra is big length/width and heavy so it really made me think twice about it as an overland vehicle but keeping it as a mid travel fun vehicle. But then again theres many crazy overlanders our there, I’ve seen those big dodge trucks and the ford diesel trucks. Possibly a Tacoma or 4Runner for overlanding in the future but they’re both so weak as far as power, or a Lexus GX 470 with the V8 or the older 4runners with the V8.

I kind of agree. This last wheeling trip we took, she was tight getting into a bunch of spots. Although, I have a buddy with a power wagon and he’ll stick that thing anywhere. The main reason I like my truck is the interior room and the bed. There space to put everything and We don’t have to deal with being cramped with both of us and the dog. Plus it’s future proof for when we have kids.

To give you an idea that she’s a big bitch...

Angle does it no justice. This is pretty close to 45 degrees.

Appreciate it guys. Still quite a bit of work to do.

In other news, let the suspension upgrades begin.

Got my antenna from @TheAntennaSource. No more almost ripping off the base of the antenna while wheeling. Super fast shipping and great price. Thus far, not much change in service but I don’t listen to the radio much.

Where did you buy the xfactor mount from? I’ve emailed them multiple times however never had a response.

I got it from yotabeast. I think they may have gone out of business though. Their website seems to be down and has been down for a while. I got the dual battery mount from them too, but have not installed it.

Thanks to @zackbremer for posting up this thread on an eBay deal with incorrect pricing for 4.88 Revolution gears. Ordered them up Wednesday and they were at my door today. Color me impressed.

I’m probably gonna wait for Black Friday to order front and rear ARB lockers. So install won’t be for a bit.

In other news, Kings should be on their way. Thanks to @sdhq_offroad for the customer service. And..... for costing me a ton of cash.

id do some reading about IFS and lockers before you toss your money at it..the rear is def worth it, but the front for the kind of wheeling most of us do in the tundras i dont think is worth the cost or risk. just my opinion and you know what they say about those

Wow, i've def not been on the forums in a long time. We'll have to meet up sometime for camping/wheeling. Check us out over at Facebook too if you're into that. I'm in central Indiana, but from southern Indiana.

I have heard and seen it, but we subscribe to the “don’t use your lockers until you absolutely have to” mentality. Sort of a last resort to make sure you can get out deal. Especially coming from the crawler world. Not sure if you saw, but that manual swapped 4Runner has an arb in the clamshell and it’s been fine. He’s been wheeling it like that for the better part of 5 yrs.

My heartburn is that it’s coming apart anyway, so it would be tough not to put a locker in it while it’s on the bench.

No idea. That’s some other dude who posted my thread. My trucks the tan one. Looks like his handle is coolhardy though.

Sounds good. Always looking for more people to wheel with. My so called “friends” all have vehicles in different stages of being built. I’ll find you on Facebook.

Let me know when you swap them out? I may be interested in the factory pro suspension depending on price/mileage/condition and we may be close enough for a FTF deal (I'm in the Cincy, OH area)?

Been stupid busy with work and life, so haven’t had a chance to update this thread.

Finally decided to make time to work on my truck and put together the rack I got from @Datin Metal Fab. It’s been sitting in my garage for over a month...

I seriously couldn’t be happier with the rack and it’s only gonna get better with more parts coming!!

If you’re in the market for a rack, give Datin Metal Fab some serious consideration since some actual engineering went into this thing. With the other parts that are under development for this thing, it’s going to be a serious contender.

Now, just need to go on a wheeling trip to beat the crap out of it...

Small update, but been doing some wheeling while scouting some waterfowl hunting spots and waiting for the rest of my kings to come in.

    Some tucked tundra Tuesday!

Did the xfaktr mount cause the power steering line failure? I have had mine mounted for about 9 months with no issues. Just want to make sure there’s not a failure looming for me. I also just have the single arb mounted.

It sure did. I was towing my car hauler with a buddy’s entire belongings on it and my pump started whining. Popped the hood and there was P/S fluid EVERYWHERE. Cost me a hose and pump. Just keep and eye on the distance of the hose to the pulley. That’s where mine was cut. Ended up cutting the new hose 1/2" short to make sure it didn't get cut by the pulley again.

In other news, Christmas came early. Only thing missing is the U748 leafs, shackle/ubolt kit, the hydro bumps for the rear, and still considering the LCA from TC.
