Replaced my wiper blades today and thought what the hell?

I threw some Shine Supply Trim Shine on mine yesterday. It also looked terrible. Brought it back to life for the time being, we'll see how it holds.

Will probably try the Cerakote next based on recommendations I've seen here - seems to have some pretty good staying power.

You do work at HD. Build one. :D

Many other people have a bigger garage than I. 24’x38’ is pretty standard attached garage. Most people around us have huge shops. :(

Cerakote Trim Coat is the answer. Easy application, reasonably priced, lasts a hell of a long time.

Does that restore the plastic or just protect it? I'm planning on using it on mine after the Dlux runs out so my plastic is still properly pretty but just wondering if it helps gray, ugly old plastic... lol

PS: I'm also planning on using it on the black metal on my steps. Good idea? They're less than a year old and rusting already. I wash my truck. Weston is crap...

I guess I'll be the odd man out. I would remove, prep and paint it. That's what I did on my 18 year old black trim and it looks a lot better.

Like Ron said, it will restore the color. It does that as well as anything short of Solution Finish. Lasts a lot longer though.

I will disagree with Ron though, for probably the first time ever. This stuff works incredibly on nerf bars, and doesn’t leave a slippery surface in the slightest. You’ll need to let it cure before you step on them, but just so the product will set, not because they’re slippery.

I’ve never seen a product work for making nerf bars black again, and staying that way. I applied it on mine July 1st.

    Before:

After (the excess gloss went away after it cured, leaving a nice factory looking black):

    A week ago:

That’s about 3 1/2 months and it hasn’t really faded at all. Just make sure it doesn’t get wet before it cures. It will leave spots that you’re pretty much stuck with.
