I've had my truck since Halloween 2017 and infrequently drive on the 405. But recently the mrs. and I have taken the boys up to her parents(Thousand Oaks) for the holidays and yesterday I was driving back from SLO for work. What I am getting at is there is a specific part of the 405 freeway where the truck hits the different sections in the road just right to make it not super bouncy. I have driven sedans and suv's up until this point so maybe I am just not used to the truck suspension. But have any SoCal members that are driving on the 405 south of the 101 offramp experienced bouncing? Hard to describe, but maybe it is the wheel base of the CM that makes the truck bounce when we hit that stretch of the road. I have had it happen 5 times (or every time we have driven on that stretch) and I have done it at different speeds. Higher speeds don't affect it as much. Any info helps, thanks!

    First, that's just the 405.

Second, throw some weight in your bed. Couple bags of sand will help with the leaf springs breaking in. Your truck is still new.

I’m from Ventura County, but didn’t have my Tundra then. Are you all stock?

Just bed bounce. Most trucks get them just depends on the wheel base and the distance between the cracks in the concrete. I noticed mine gets it on the 110 and sections of the 405. It doesn’t seem to be as prominent as it was when it was brand new. I think the springs have broken in a bit.

I was there last weekend. Between lax and 101 the 405 is rough. Lots of bed bounce. Just a bad section of road.

I figured as much driving on the 405. There was some weight one of the times driving up north. The boy's Xmas presents, double wide stroller, over night bags, food, toys etc. Lots of dad stuff. Also got a tonneau cover it that helps the weight situation. But from what I've read so far it is a combo of a stock truck needing to be broken in, the 405 being...the 405 and possible lack of weight. Thanks!

I remember my first time on the 405, brand new lifted F250. Drove straight to the nearest off road shop because I thought the truck was broken. It was fine.:der:

I get bed bounce with toytec lift on some highways here in Colorado. It’s a truck thang!

I’m surprised you’re ever to get Enough speed to have any bouncing. The 405 is the worlds largest parking lot.

You forgot the 134. And the 210. And let’s not forget the 60. Or the 91.
Oh, or the 710 or the 605.

The list goes on and on..

Hard to get bed bounce at 2 miles an hour if you are lucky to be in the "fast" lane.

I get a nice rhythmic bounce going on the concrete section of 4-lane near where I live all the time.

I visited SoCal in December (drove my truck) and some of those freeways out there are a punishment. I don't remember the ride ever being that rough in other vehicles. Coming in, I drove from the 10 to the 60 to the 91 and the 91 out from corona to Anaheim sucked. on the way out, I drove 91 to the 15 to the 10 and the 10 was brutal until I hit palm springs. I don't experience any of that harshness out here in TX. its those damn concrete freeways with the expansion joints that are hell in the tundra.

That stretch of road is terrible as you pass the Getty. I go to SB often and get the bounce every time regardless of weight and speed. Another stretch on the NB 5 right before the 73 is pretty bad too. Usually saw aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh and feel like a kid again haha
