Who is smoking the main course this year?

This year I’m smoking a prime rib.

Turkey will be in the oven.

    Preparing my meat:

    938AEBF4-8D3E-46ED-8D52-A10CF2818A95.jpg

    Washed and pat dried.

    Cut the ribs off, saved.

    7D88E2F9-6FFC-41B5-ABD3-B6C38C117422.jpg

Gotta have a good whiskey when preparing meat. 26B9CDF5-C9FF-4BFE-A8A6-2CA225C34F46.jpg

Then I used the meat tenderizer, olive oil, rub...

    0B1D47B5-AA70-4CDF-8117-FB7D91FC87B0.jpg

Tied up the prime rib and then then tied back to ribs.

Wrapped and ready for tomorrow’s feast.

Good whiskey choice! I'll be drinking Blantons and smoking our turkey this year. I also smoked gouda, sausage and nuts for appetizers a few weeks back.

    Looks great, @ColoradoTJ !

We usually do Thanksgiving at our place and we cook two turkeys - one in the oven and one in the smoker. This year we are heading over to my sister-in-law's place, but everybody requested that I smoke a turkey again. It is currently sitting in the brine.

Mine is in the brine waiting for its big day. I usually roast the turkey, but this year I am going to try my first smoked turkey. I’m a little worried...

Whats funny is that the guys who work at the restaurant know a few Tagalog words (filipino language) and while they dont sing like the movie, they like to impress us by speaking our language so we just keep going back!

I’m actually generally concerned about air quality on the front range.

You smoke the whole shoulder? I usually grind them, but this year I dissected one. Stew meat and a chunk that looks like a boneless pork butt. Watching this, will need details.
