Hey Y’all greetings from Southeast Georgia, thankful for allowing me membership into Tundras.com.
My wife an I bought a 2002 Tundra about Oct. of 2019. We bought it for my Daily driver. Soon after our purchase ,my wife realized I had been correct. Dell tells everyone that she very much enjoys driving Keith’s Truck “ full-size “ pickup. Among the vehicles we have owned 3 pickups. Two Chevys and one GMC. I was blessed to have a work truck a few years ago several years a 2012 twin turbo eco-boost . The city I work for allowed me to order it as I needed. I changed the rearend one gear ratio up ? Taller? , a highway gearing ....I commute about 70 miles each way everyday hoping it would help mpg. I wasn’t impressed with the Ford truck.
Said all that to say this 2002 Tundra has a few hiccups we are ironing out. It is one of the most enjoyable vehicles we have owned. I told the previous owner a local Graduating teenager. Him and his Mom and Dad took very good care of it as the previous owners as well . We bought it equipped with 4.7 Auto SR5 access cab has Goodyear AT T/As 285/65 x 18 and Dick Cepick wheels, upgraded suspension aFe Control Sway-A-Way 2.5” Front coil overs , rear has had a added helper spring leaf on the rear and a 1 or 2 “ lift. It had a couple of amps installed under each of the front seats and a subwoofer and Box under the rear seat . Lol I didn’t really care about the stereo much a buddy of mine told me that it was about 3500 dollars worth. It sounds good I don’t thump it much . I already have trouble hearing Dell in the other room I don’t need anymore “help” with no hearing too good.I also added a set of Amazon Led bulbs. Helped us see a bunch !
I am Hopeful to be able to learn tips /tricks ways to save $$$ on things needed and things just wanted. We hope to let this pickup be ours to enjoy for a very long time. Thank y’all all for the time taken to write posts and read my rambling on . This type of forum is a very helpful asset to anyone owning a Tundra. I wish when I was growing up there had been this type of resource available to learn about different vehicles. Y’all all are a awesome resource. To borrow a trekker reference , the years of experience represent here in forum could be referred to a 1st Generation “ Collective “ .
I hope to find Tundras.com is good place to be a member.

    Best regards,
    Keith Wilson

Clean truck! Welcome. Just stay on top of the scheduled maintenance and it should last a long time. Don’t forget about the timing belt that needs to be done every 90,000 miles. My Sequoia just went 170,000 on the original belt. I was on borrowed time and glad I got it done... finally. To my credit, it had around 155,000 on it when we acquired the vehicle.

Thank you , I really like it.
That reminder right there is what helps others. I have regrettable not thought about it lately. I did see where is was changed. The Toyota Company has some records available I happened to see someone reference it . I looked ours up and found a lot of useful info on prior maintenance that had been done. I need to write the timing belt down, set a calendar alarm or something. I got about 20,000 miles left till it will need it changed again. Thanks again.
