Dang that place looks awesome!! I showed my wife those old cabins and she wants to go!! I might have to make a drive up there next month. Do you know if they allow atv's in the park?

I'm not sure, but I've never seen any when I've been there.

The hiking and biking trails are epic though. You could probably explore the park on an ATV though, just not up any trail.

A little closer is Caprock Canyon. A little more low key and a bit smaller, but you could probably get away with more.

Big Bend is awesome! Most of the trails I tried were easy for the Tundra. We didn't camp when we were there but they offer primitive camping spots. Definitely worth the long drive if you have time to go.

I was going to suggest PINS, that is one of my most favorite spots. Nothing better than being 20 miles down the beach with no one else around. I try to get down 6-8 times a year and was going to try to make it this coming weekend but too much going on with us heading to the east coast for 10 days on 6/14. Will be heading down mid late July for sure.

As mentioned already Garner is a great State park. you may also want to look at Big Bend (State and national Park), Palo Duro Canyon is also a great time. Check out the TPWD website for a list of all state parks and the amenities at each one.

Drink a lot of water and carry a lot of water. Freaking hot inside the canyon during the summer.

Enchanted Rock is pretty cool for hiking.
Also check out Glenrose. Nice cool river (most of the time) and dino tracks along the river.

Yes, you can drive on and camp on the west end of Galveston, also in Surfside towards Freeport.

I don’t believe they have trails specifically designated for ATVs, just hiking. Barnwell Mountain and Escondido Draw are off-road parks that offer camping, though.

Yea, can be on the beach in 45 or so. We used to camp when we were younger. Would fish all night.
Been doing a beach house in gulf Shores Alabama with family last few yours, water and beaches a bit nicer.
