    Steps for buying a Tesla:

    1) Buy Tesla
    2) Place Tesla in garbage can
    3) Buy Toyota

If lived in the city, paid 200 bucks for a haircut and enjoyed watching Cricket tournaments with my old college roommate I would consider it.
But, I don’t. So, Tundra for the win!

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
I think they are interesting cars, but would I ever pay that price for a car as unreliable as a Tesla...NO. However, it is enjoyable to drive my friend's Tesla around.

Not into electric cars but definitely intrigued with the Tesla's. I would imagine a lot of the Model 3's will be sold here in Denver Metro area. 35K isn't a bad price point especially if the Mod 3 lives up to all the hoopla.

The electric trucks that are starting up seem interesting. I will estimate that 80% of the gas and Diesel engine problems are emissions and economy related. At least the electric guys don't have to fight that war. It will happen eventually, but I am the last guy to convert not the first. I bought the last 2015 Tacoma, and a 2018 tundra to avoid the "latest and greatest" bullshit that comes with "better"

Tesla's are awesome. Love it when people say they are unreliable as that's total garbage .They have very little moving parts which makes it a very reliable car. Thy run out of electric you say? Well so would a regular gas car if you don't fill it up. I would say everyone should test drive a Tesla. The tech in them and torch is out of this world. The self driving aspect is quite spectacular, too.

ToyTec's owner has a Tesla. The large sedan. Not sure what model but saw it up close and it's freaking nice.

My neighbor has one. He took me for a ride. It is a rocket and felt very solid. The head unit is amazing. I wouldn’t buy one though.

I drove my friends Model 3 dual motor AWD Tesla..... Blows the doors off his WRX STI. Weird feeling though as the acceleration is very linear.

I guess haters gonna hate. If I could afford a second car right now, I wouldn’t mind getting a Tesla 3. I just don’t understand the Tesla hate.

It’s American torque-busting ingenuity, made in America, and running on American-made electricity, which Thomas Edison, another American, also invented. Tesla even made their patents free to the public.

Let’s not forget that a lot of oil producing countries that export to us hate us. I say let them choke on their oil as we power up more of our American-made electric cars with American power plants running on American natural gas and coal. As for our own oil, we can use it for our own needs and export the surplus to those friendly, allied countries that need it before it eventually runs out.

Model 3 is too small for my family of four and not enough protection from crash with full sized truck or suv The S model is awesome and fast as hell. Sixty grand used. Too much for me.

What makes you think it's ever going to run out? It's not necessarily the finite, non-renewable resource that's it's been made out to be.

I thought it was a finite source? I guess I learned something new today and am heartened to know that. Still though, I’m old enough to remember the long gas lines and energy crisis of the 70’s thanks to the embargo imposed on us by many in OPEC. I’m all for American ingenuity with fracking and horizontal drilling, but I’d rather do what we can to avoid adding more wealth to oil-rich countries that hate us, like Russia, Libya and Iran, for instance. If American-made Teslas can help in that regard, then I’m all for it.

I would buy a BMW Z4.....err I mean Toyota Supra as my daily before Tesla. I'm an automotive engineer and have benchmarked multiple Tesla vehicles. Their long-term reliability is garbage in comparison. Do they have fancy features? Sure...but if the car company cannot take pride in design and build something that will last a long time to be on par with the rest of the industry, then i'm out.

I like the concept. I like the company. I like Elon Musk. I even kinda like how the car looks.

I don't like the fact that 4 or 5 months out of the year I would be either cut down drastically in range or be dead in the water due to the extreme cold. Batteries + -30C = No bueno.

For now, The Woman's Corolla S is sufficient for a fuel efficient around town car. Might consider a RAV4 Hybrid or the Lexus equivalent next time though. Pure electric is, quite literally, a non-starter for me though.

I nearly bought a Tesla for my wife. She hated it. I like the S but the 3 is pretty spartan.

Take a look at the QC issues. Then look at just how basemodel the Tesla 3 is. The interior is absolute garbage. A giant screen tacked on to a soulless dashboard with no design whatsoever.

The 35k model comes only in black with black cloth. It has manual seats which honestly I’m fine with but not in that class of car as you will never be able to get rid of it down the road. The resale will be disastrous. Honestly it’s just not good for the cash layout.

Options are EXPENSIVE: To get it in red is another 2500 bucks or blue is 1500. The autopilot is another 5 grand.
