Got a Tundra OEM rubber bed mat, so the bed is all good but now my tailgate is getting scratched up. Thinking of either a rubber protector since the material matches or a plastic that would make it easier to slide stuff in.
Anyone have any thought on this?

    Not nearly enough room here!
I bought a rubber bed mat that really did the job but ended up blowing-out my tailgate shock, because of the extra weight. Changed over to a Bed Rug tailgate mat (like johnxmccoy) and it does fine.

Hadn't thought of that. I really like that feature and wouldn't want to jack it up

    Look up mountain hatch.
They make a flat melamine replacement for the inside of the tailgate.

Find a Bullet Liner Dealer in your area and get the bed sprayed.
Same product as Line-X but not as expensive.

I have the Weather tech tailgate cover with the factory rubber bed mat too. Works pretty good. Pretty thin, not heavy. Nothing slides though, its grippy when you're pushing things into the bed. Only complaint is that it gets slightly wavy when it gets hot in the sun. But it goes back flat after it cools off. Its held in with a combo of factory screws and 3M sticky Velcro. I was skeptical of that but it holds well.

the plastic drop in bedliner has a matching plastic corrugated cover for the tail gate, it would compliment your bed mat beautifully and both surfaces would be about the same height so when your sliding stuff in and out you wont catch the lip between the tailgate and bed floor gap. you can buy just the part for the tailgate

    Same here.
I have the OEM spray on liner, but still have the Bedrug bed mat and tailgate mat.
Both are installed with Velcro and easily removed if needed..
