I replaced the lift support strut, but the it is not holding up....is there another part that I may need to replace or is it a bd strut?

    Not nearly enough room here!
I blew mine out with the weight of 1/4" thick rubber mat on the tailgate. Is it not dampening at all? I replaced mine with a stock strut, after doing a search and locating it.

So you installed an Toyota strut? Does the strut hinge or bushing have anything to do with the funvtion? I purchased a strut from Amazon with high ratings.

I bought my strut by the stock numbers, 66140-OCO10, Amazon's geniuses called it a Glove Box Support. $86 and change. Bought it in 2016.
