    Hi All,

Had a 2018 Tacoma that the wife felt was too small. So here we are in the Tundra. Will add spray-on bedliner, color matched bumper covers, grill bulge, and then black out the emblems. Look forward to learning from y'all.

The Tacoma was a fun truck to drive in the city. Size was perfect for the daily driving in stop and go. Plus averaged 21.5 miles per gallon in 50/50 city/highway driving. Fit in the garage nicely. But passenger size was lacking and I felt like I had to focus more on driving it than the Tundra. By that I mean working the gas pedal to make sure I got the right power at the right rpm. If there was a hill coming up, I had to prepare for it and gradually increase how much pedal I gave it or it would downshift two gears and jump to 3,500-4,000 rpm. I like to keep the rpm lower than that so always had to be aware of what was coming up. With the Tundra I simply drive and the truck never feels like it lacks power. Apples to oranges comparison between the trucks. Think the Tacoma is perfect for empty nesters or guys/girls without kids. I don't fall into either category so the Tundra is the best for me. Looked at the GM twins and had a F-150 as a rental. Ford interior felt cheap and like it wasn't going to last. The GM twins had features I didn't like: auto stop start (hate the feature), tailgate with electric button/motor only (no handle) and was put off by the class action lawsuit on the 8-speed transmission. Basically a long way of saying, love the Tundra.
