    Hello. My 2014 platinum tundra is having an issue with the sun roof. I have'nt used it at all for over a year then this weekend i thought I'd open it. When i pushed the button i heard a slight click but it didnt open. Tried a few times with the open and shut and the tilt but nothing. I gave up knowing it was going to rain and i didnt want it to stick open. I tried again yesterday and the button opened it just enough to crack the seal and stopped so now on the highway i can hear air coming through and if i look from the top i can see its not 100% closed. Would this be a fuse? Or a motor? Like i said i hear a small click like its trying to engage?

    I know you can manually close them up, or at least get them back to a point where they shouldn’t leak (too bad), if it were to rain.

    Also, here’s a thread, also for a 2014 platinum, similar issue, and there’s some advice about cleaning the brushes on the motor/contacts, that worked for multiple people, good luck;

    Maybe time for a piece of plastic laid down with the doors open then close the doors to hold the plastc while parked in the rain until you can get it fixed or under a roof. Wish you much luck!!

    General question on this issue: Does using the sunroof more frequently (opening and closing it) decrease the chance of issues like this? Increase? I would think that more use would keep it working properly unless you have an issue with a specific motor or track.

    Not much different than any other electromechanical device, pretty sure you are correct. Things corrode and or seize when static for long periods of time. 4x4 actuators come to mind.
