Sugar in the Gas Tank (Or filler Neck)

Long story short. Girlfriend put about 129 grams (1/2 cup) of the brown, raw sugar into my gas tank. I have about 5 gallons of fuel currently in the tank. She sobered up and told me before I started the vehicle.

    My question has 3 parts:

    1) Does anybody know where I can find a picture (cutaway would be better) of the filler neck. As I do not think that any of the sugar has reached the tank yet and I was wondering if I could merely fashion some some sort of tube and shop vac it out. Are there any baffles in there that would impede this?

    2) I have researched and have found conflicting evidence on the severity of this situation. Opinions on if merely leaving the sugar in there, filling up the tank, running, say, Sea Foam through would be sufficient?? I may need to swap out the fuel filter in a few tanks, but it seems that the sugar doesn't dissolve and just sits on the bottom of the tank.

    3) Should I just have the tank and filler neck professionally cleaned? Luckily my girlfriend is "happy" to pay for it but as a sucker and softy, I am trying to save her money.

So yeah... Any advice would be helpful. Picture shown is roughly the amount that we deduced made it into the neck.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

    -XSP Driver

UPDATE: I appreciate all of your advice and I will respond to as many as soon as my truck is mobile. I cannot work without it, so, please only comment if your advice pertains to my relationship with my Tundra.

I think that the sugar did not make it to the tank (due to the angle my truck was parked/gravity- in addition to the fact that the metal flap in the nozzle broke off when the sugar was being installed).

The mechanic cannot see until Friday and due to the revelations mentioned above, I am trying to fix myself. I have removed 2 of the 3 hoses/connectors to the fuel neck nozzle but cannot remove the one pictured. Any advice on the removal of this connector is greatly appreciated.

    Please see attached photos.

    Thank you in advance.

If she is “happy to pay for it” I’d let her do that and get it towed to a shop. If I was in your shoes that’s the route I would take. I would constantly question if I truly got it all out using the vacuum or sea-foam method.

Agree with the above post. This could probably get costly real quick if it does any damage.

So uh, I think your order of questions is wrong not to mention your selection of titles.

“My now EX-Girlfriend” etc etc etc... I have some questions as follows:

    1. Does anyone know a good attorney?

    2. Does anyone know a good psychologist?

    3. How do I go about getting a restraining order?

There, I fixed it for you.

As someone with personal experience in this particular area I would suggest doing yourself a favor and hightailing it out of there.

I would send it to a trusted shop and let her foot the bill, if this is the only means of transport and i'd rent a truck and let her foot that bill also. let it be a life lesson.

If this was opposite and she took you to a small claims court. You'd be paying much more than this.

    Just my 2 cents.

She almost cost you a few grand because she was upset, get the tank and all professionally cleaned and have her pay. Then get a locking gas cap and a restraining order.
