So I’m pretty sure everybody here knows about how hard sundown subs can hit. Can anybody recommend me a shallow sub (doesn't have to be sundown) that’ll have that type of bang. I wouldn’t want to lose the back seat or space in my CM.

Stereo Integrity has been developing with sundown the mkV, Skar has the old design from the SD design from sundown and the SD4 is about to come out. if you are willing to push the limits there is the polk mm series that even has a 15" sub if you look for it...

me personally the 12" SD3 are nice and shake the whole truck...

    nothing much
Addictive Audio makes some damn good shallow subs. Dont hit as hard as SD, but then again you can't expect the same sound from a box slim sub and slim sub and one that takes up your whole trunk.
I'm running a pair of AA 10's in the tundra and a pair of SD 8's in my Lexus.

12" with a mounting depth of 5 1/4 inch and can be put right up to the wall of the box (no pole vent on back). they are nice but can not be ported. you can feed these things over 1kw each and they will take it smoothly with out burning. the cab amp was wired to 1ohm and rated 1600 rms. during dinamic music runs i wouldn't put it passed it giving somewhere around 2400watts... but the board fried on that amp and went with sundowns sister comp Skar and got the rp1500 for time being till i try new mosfets in the CAB...

Question: besides the difference in size, is there a difference in sound quality between a 10” and 12”? Speaking on the SD-3 specifically.

not taking brand into consideration GENERALLY you will get a little deeper base the bigger you go so the 10” will generally be a little crisper/tighter base over the 12”

My two SD3s tuned to 34hz off my SAZ1000 get plenty loud and play plenty deep, considering they are behind the seat and you’de never know anything was back there if the system wasn’t on.

How many inches of space do you have at the bottom there as far as Subwoofer depth?

enough to clear everything lol. I think it’s about 7” at the bottom.

The back is cut out and fiberglassed to accommodate the massive motor on these things. Box was built by JRT.

They make reference/SQ systems. I havent heard it, but considering the tuned DSP and the power of the amp, it will sound accurate but wont blow your doors off.

You could do better for the same price, if you're willing to do the work, tuning, etc. OEM+ definitely has a niche market that works.

Not sure I've seen anyone go that route. I don't really know what kind of space the crew max's have, but I don't think there's room in the double cabs. Definitely not in an 07.

The DC audio 8's are pretty big depth wise, aren't they?

Kicker Shallow Mounts.....been pretty pleased with them but haven’t heard others personally for comparison.
