So first - this is going to sound really really dumb because I'm a "take it to the shop" kinda guy but trying to do some DIY things for a change.

I'm trying to install some wheel spacers and after asking my wife to help with the brakes for the front, she told me she's not comfortable getting into the truck on the jack stand, leaving me with the dilemma of a spinning wheel while trying to torque the bolts.

If I engage the 4WD will it lock the front wheels so that I can do this as a one-man job?

You can put a long screwdriver in one of the rotor vanes to keep it from turning.

I used a block of wood wedged between the seat frame/brake pedal when i put mine on since nobody was home.

Remind your wife though, being in the truck while on jack stands is safer than being under it....

Just lower the jack so the tire is just touching the ground then tighten away !

You missed it. He was referring to tightening the wheel spacers.

Screwdriver in the rotor fin so it meets the brake caliper should do fine

4wd will stop the tire spinning assuming the other 3 tires are touching the ground too

That's what I was thinking as well, but I'm down with the screwdriver trick too.
