My Mountain bike addiction, it's just as fun working/upgrading the bike as it is to ride.
Any Stumpjumper fan boys here besides me? Lol

Have a buddy who has a new carbon one. Another friend just got a 5th gen Fuel EX8.

And here I ride my wife's Cali SL because it's far better than my old Specialized P1 All Mtn.

I dropped a class at Michigan State back in the early 90's. I used the refunded money to buy a Rockhopper (not quite the Stumpjumper). It went with me to Germany, somebody tried to steal it at Fort Hood when I was there - the handlebars wedged themselves in the storage unit somehow and the assholes couldn't get it out). :D

I have it out on my covered side porch right now, ready for me to work on it and get it back to being ready to ride again.

When I was a kid I wanted a rockhopper with some rockshox Judy S-something lol. I think I ended up with a decent diamondback though.

The new carbon SJ is the only bike you’ll need, can do it all. Put XC tires on it and it rips down the trails

Pretty good sales to be had on specialized website.
I had a rockhopper for 12 years and really enjoyed it. It was stolen during the pandemic (we were riding bikes a lot as a family so I needed to replace it and options were limited). Couldn’t find a stumpy in my size anywhere and ended up with a Davinci Troy full susp (alloy) and picked up a rip rock 24 & riprock 20 for my kids.
I’m still rocking the Troy, but I just got my 13 year old a rockhopper comp 27.5. Great bike so far. He rode my Troy and couldn’t tell the difference between his and mine. Lol. Glad I didn’t spring for the stump jumper for him, but did always want one. Still kind of do, but happy with what I got.

great sale going on now, but you’re essentially getting them at msrp price pre covid with 25% off promo.

I had a 2013 trek cobia hardtail before my 22 SJ. Being on a bike is all that matters, i loved both but man this new SJ is such a beast. i feel like this one will be with me for a while like the trek cobia.

So far so good. It’s by no means the limiting factor when I’m riding it, haha. I use it mainly for a fun fitness option. Does everything I throw from xc style rides, mild downhills, and everything in between. Honestly all these modern bikes with good geometry / travel/ and components will though. I got it from evo (ski shop) so it came with a few upgrades that help it out. I’m still not convinced the 29” are the end all/ be all, which is why I got my son the 27.5. I got no complaints really. A carbon SJ was what I was after though.

My 2019 Stumpjumper. Nothing special, just a FS Alloy 29er and no mods other than pedals (Chesters) and dropper post. But damn do I love this bike! I rode a hard tail for 16 years, and just going to full suspension was such a significant change that I never bothered to do any other mods.

    Also...
I picked up a Levo last year. Still a similar design, but different geometry. There were better options out there, but I guess my addiction goes beyond a Stumpy and to Specialized in general. I love this bike as much as the Stumpy! I still ride them both, but which one I bring depends on where I'm gonna ride.

Jumping in on this one, been working the ATX area recently and coming from working Big Spring Tx, seen a few Specialized MTB, and this one rider had a Stumpjumer and it was love at first sight, so I went to a Specialized dealer and saw me a SJ EVO comp alloy, this thing is awesome! So I'll be taking the plunge on one soon
