I have a 2011 with the stock battery. Other than the corrosion issue that seems to plague many people it has worked fine. We had a lot of hot weather this year and it was fine but with winter coming should I replace it anyway, or see how things go? It is 6 years old which seems like it's on the longer side of lifespan.

    TIA

Toyota batteries are under warranty for 8 years. However, that doesn't help when you hear the "click" of the solenoid on the starter and that is it.

My other half has been stuck twice now because of factory Toyota batteries at about the 6 year mark.

Factory batteries suck. I replaced mine after 3 years with an Odyssey.

I'm a true believer in preventative maintenance, and never let a battery go past five years, regardless of warranty or if it passes a test.

My OEM battery died at after about 4 years. It died without any hint that it was going bad. Lucky for me, I was picking up my children from school not too far from home.
