so I am experiencing something odd....

I just had 5100's installed with the ridge grapplers. the alignment is good and the truck drives straight and doesn't wander at all. however, when I first drive the truck for the day, I have a slight left and right steering wheel wobble at 55-60mph. but after about 5 minutes of driving, the wobble goes away. there aren't any other issues and any other speed at any other time.... just when the truck has been sitting out in the driveway all night.

what does this sound like to you? maybe the tires get a flat spot? or because the tires are cold? is this indicative of any suspension issues? its so weird.

    thanks,

At a speed like that it is typically a balance issue. You are hitting the harmonic frequency at that speed and it makes the vibration.

hmm... would a road force balance correct this? it is odd that it is intermittent though.

I had the same issue w a 2015 Silverado. I put some BFG ko2's and one of them would not balance. Road force balanced also. One of the tires was bad.
Well, in retrospect, whole truck was bad really. Lemon lawed it and got my tundra.
    Are the tires new?

Have you taken them back to the shop that installed them to rebalance?
Might be worth it, could be an easy fix.

What you describe is exactly what mine was doing. 3 of tires balanced fine. Was just 1 bad tire.
If it turns out to be same for you, have them swap that tire.
After they re- balance, take s look at wheels n check weights. On my bad tire they had stacked s bunch of weights to try n balance. I called them on the bs.
Never did getfixed as I got rid of truck

    Some suspension tweaks
    Sounds like flat spots.
I had some Dunflops that did it daily. Heck, my Michelins do it now when the truck sits for a couple weeks. A little heat in the tires and it goes away.

One idea would be an out of round tire (it does happen). Once it heats up it comes back into spec.

Mine have done that, my Taco did that, and my Chevy does it.

Not everyday, but normally when it's colder or hasn't been driven all night. I chalk it up to cold tires and pressure balances out once it's been heated up

Those tires are Load range E 10 ply rated, aren't they? I have it a bit in the Tundra with LRE Duratracs, the Tacoma with LRE 'Tracs was worse. I've accepted it as part of running a stiffer, heavier tire at lower loads and pressures than it was really designed for. Once the tires warm up a bit, mine smooths right out too.
