I stacked the ground wires behind the air box on top of each other. Could a double stack ground cause electrical issues? Everything electrical in my dash will intermittently stop working including the traction control.

It could. Look into a ground bar / block

Take it apart and make sure that there is a good ground and no paint is left behind. I'm betting that will cure the issue. Mercedes puts multiple grounds on one stud.

Stacking a few ground eyelets is fine as long as all surfaces are clean of paint or corrosion, and it is tight. Well, within reason anyway, I wouldn't add a high amperage ground wire (like a high power amp, or inverter) to a body ground connection at all, but for anything 30A and under you'll be fine.

I'm going to say that your instrument cluster issues are an unrelated problem.

Thanks, this what the dealer was saying was the cause of the problem. Just wanted to get others opinion before i go take the truck back and complain of the 300$ I was charged last time i was in.

So 2 things... 1st as others have said stacking grounds or using a "common ground" is ok. You could cause some issues if say you had different voltages or combining ac and dc to the same spot. 2nd i see you have the Hypertech speedo calibrator that very well could be the cause to your issue. I got mine installed and about 5 months later it just decided to stop working. Every light on my dash was on and i had no tach or speedo. I almost got it towed to a different Toyota dealer but decided to give the other one a chance first. Called their parts guy the next day and he said i know exactly whats wrong with it. Ill have another calibrator here tomorrow for you. Sure enough he was right.

Ill disconnect the calibrator for a bit and see if the problems still arise.
