Im going to order one tomorrow.
Either SR5 or Limited 6.5 army green

Limited trd offroad is extra 9k CAD.

    I get
    14" screen - want it
    Soft tex - want it
    Power folding side mirror-don't care
Electrochrimic rear view mirror - don't care
400w bed outlet, bump switch-don't care. 400w is useless.
    Wireless charger - don't care
Panoramic moon roof- don't want it.
    Ventilated seats - don't care

I want the leather and 14inch screen and other things I don't really care and I never use panoroof. I plan to keep this truck for 10 yrs and don't want any headache from panoroof.

I think I should order sr5 but I feel like I need to order limited so I don't have any regrets after.

In Canada, we can't really customize options.

What would you get? I heard 3rd party leather seat is high quality and easy to do but damm I want that 14" screen.

I'd go SR5. 9k for ultimately the bigger screen wouldn't be worth it to me. Most seem to think katskinz is better than softex(I don't personally know). You could do that and put an aftermarket head unit and still be well under that 9. Just my opinion.

SR5 all the way. Why regret the Limited when it offers you nothing.

I'm after a loaded SR5 TRD Sport. Perfect blend of features and price. Can't wait.

Based on what you said you want/don't want, I would say SR5. Later on if you want leather you can add it. I'm in Tx so no need for heated seats but in Canada I'm wondering if this might be worth it...

roll with the sr5 and get the "essentials" for it. Itll be easily lower than 9k.

The only thing i would miss in your situation is the heated seats if they are included in the sr5 youre looking at if you arent adding those in your "extra" stuff.

Question: is the 14” screen not available on the SR5?

Which package gets you the 14" screen? I have been trying to decide between the same two trims as the OP.

My .02 cents I currently own a 18 Tacoma TRD off-road dbl cab long bed. I have put a deposit down initially for sr5 TRD off-road but changed to a limited non TRD model. Reason being that I’ve owned my truck for about three years now and I have hardly if ever used any of the multi terrain selection stuff more to just try it out I 4x4 pretty often when I was growing up and four-wheel-drive worked just fine for me I’m not saying that it’s not useful but I personally like to be in control more than the truck don’t get me wrong the locker is definitely a nice feature but I can always add an aftermarket one with an arb compressor. With what I have Priced out now a nice limited is cheaper than a loaded sr5. Resale would probably be better with TRD or package but I don’t plan on selling anytime soon.

To what I can see you have to option a TRD OR a premium package to be able to select the 14" screen

    Reviving an old thread.

I've put a deposit down on a Limited Offroad in magnetic grey that should be at the dealership in 4 weeks or less. There is also an SR5 Offroad in lunar rock that will be available in 1.5 weeks. The limited is $6k more.

I want the PVM/MTM, heated seats, acoustic windshield and the bedstep accessory on the limited, but don't care about spray-on bedliner and digital rearview camera. I'm not sure if I'll like the JBL audio, the trailer straight path assist and the bed lights.

The SR5 has the OR Premium pkg so it has the softex and the electric seats, and the dual zone climate control.

The only thing the SR5 does not have that I really want is the PVM/MTM. This feature has been really helpful on our 4Runner. Good for offroad camping and so much easier and safer to get in-and-out of parking spots. With the bigger truck, it will be a lot less work.

I like both of the colors. I think I'm mostly trying to figure out if the $6k difference is worth it for me given the features I want. There is a bigger discount on the limited based on current sticker pricing on the toyota site, and the limited should get better resale value.

For those that chose between similar models and options, what did you end up with?

I always ask people how long are you going to keep your vehicle for? If you plan on keeping it for 10 years, that 6k winds up being 50 bucks a month to have a lot more equipment. Plus on the other end, you'll likely recoup a majority of the money when you sell/trade it down the road. Now if this truck is a 2-4 year plan, you need to decide if that major cost factor is worth it. In the end, it's sort of something only you can answer.

Good point. Is that how you approached buying your Pro?...and given your experience with it, do you see yourself keeping it for 10 years?

I actually had a Platinum before this and traded into the Pro. I lease mine so all I really care about is the monthly payment. I'm actually going back to the Platinum when I can get my hands on one because I like the interior/ride quality much better than the Pro. With that being said, if I was keeping this for 10 years..I'd pay a little more and get the better options. It's always better to have it than not and wish you did.

The Multiview cameras on my Limited TRD are the best thing! Not sure if you get them on the SR5 TRD when you add the TRD option.

Regarding resale, in my experience it’s better to jump to the next trim level than it is to highly option a lower one. Options tend to add little book value compared to trim levels. I’d get the limited.

What makes the price on the Limited attractive is that it's based on the old msrp, less $1K dealer discount. The SR5 on the other hand is based on the current toyota pricing, less $1K dealer discount.

I just wish I could have found the Limited sooner and got the opportunity to take the port-installed options off the buildsheet like I did with the 2023 4R ORP that we got for my wife recently. BTW, I don't even know what port-installed options mean when the vehicle is built locally

And the review camera/mirror thing. OMG, I love it. I don't have to readjust the mirrors when my wife's been driving. I get a bigger field of view. And with the longer bed and sub-par turning radius of this new gen, those multi-view cameras are the bomb for parking.

The challenge is to get what you want when the Canadian trucks are pretty much fixed. To get a Digital rearview mirror, you might have to go up to a Platinum. We can’t add things to our trucks, just what is included in each trim.

And if you go to a Platinum, you don’t get the TRD offroad package option in anything higher than a Limited.
