Squirrel's 2003 Build

I figured I'd post my build on here for anyone who's interested.

A quick little history on why some of the mods were done the way they were: Young me listened to an even younger sales person at a popular national offroad shop about how I should "properly lift my truck for best offroad use". Thankfully some of the bad decisions quickly left the narrative for some better decisions.

I've learned tons since I started modifying my truck, but I am nowhere close to being anything more than total novice.

Suspension
• 5" Tuff Country DB lift
• Camburg UCAs
• King Shocks (front, 6" lift, 650 lbs. springs)
• Deaver leaf packs (5" lift)
• All-Pro Offroad U-bolt flip w/ Timbren bump stops
• Archive Garage shackle flip w/ 6" shackles

Wheels/Tires
• Pro Comp 7069 wheels
• BFG KO2 285/75R17

Electrical
• National Luna dual battery system
• sPOD

Other
• ARE CX cap
• Topper EZ Lift w/ Weekender package
• Smittybuilt X20 winch w/ synthetic line
• Uniden bearcat 980 SSB CB Radio

 

Here is the list of upcoming items that I plan to do this spring/summer to get the truck back to a state that I want it in:
• Replace uniballs & bushings in UCAs
• Replace LCAs
• Replace CV Axels
• Replace exhaust system
• Replace center support bearing
• Install rear shock relocation bracket

• Refresh leaf spring packs
• Rebuild front shocks
• Bedline entire truck
• Move aux battery to the bed

Where did you mount your Spod switches?

 

So how does the shell pop up?

 

I attached a Ram mount to the bottom bolt for the OS handle on the A-Pillar. I replaced the phone mount with the switch panel.

There are four actuators that lift it. Then I have the attachable tent that I can set up if we're going to be sleeping in the bed.
