I have a 2016 Tundra, with 96k miles on it. Truck is making a squealing noise when going around a curve to the right. No noise while going straight, or on a curve to the left. Makes this sound no matter if I’m on the brakes or not. Any ideas, possibly the U joint, or carrier bearing?

I am having the exact same issue, I have been chasing it for a couple weeks now.. I have a ‘15 with 85k miles and a 6” lift. Mine is more of a metal squeak, and only turning right, but I have to be in motion. If my truck is sitting, no squeaks when turning wheel back and forth. Mine squeaks when braking too, replaced rotors and pads a few weeks prior to the squeak starting, rechecked all the brake parts too and no fix. So now I am thinking it is bearing, bushing, ball joint related

Did you check the rotor backing plate to see if it's bent?

I did. Actually even pried them back a little with a screwdriver, just in case. There are no signs of any rubbing anywhere either. Shot the boots, joints, and drive shaft with some penetrating oil just to see if it lessens or eliminates the noise to tell me where the problem area was….no luck.

Sounds like exactly what I’ve got going on. Does it whether braking or not. Can start hearing it if I’m going at least 15mph or more going around a curve to the right. Won’t make a squeak slow turning into a driveway. I’m to the point of thinking it’s a wheel bearing, but it just doesn’t act like any of wheel bearing issues I’ve had in the past.

We jacked it up but weren’t able to get it up to speed enough to replicate it.

Have you had any luck figuring out what the issue is / or was? I am moving on to the bearing and buying the pre pressed kit.

probably unlikely, but powersteering pumps squeal during turns when they start to fail

Did anyone figure this out? I’ve got the same thing happening. Just need to turn slightly to the right only a high frequency squeal. No consistency sometimes first drive sometimes not, sometime doesn’t start until driving all day. I have only pulled left front wheel that where I thought it was coming from got to get motivated to look more.

x2 for checking the power steering. One of these belt/pulley/bearing.

Its only turning right, would think power steering would do it in both directions. It’s going to be Monday project

Does it sound like belt squeal?

Do you have a trd pro skid?

No does not sound like a belt. I’ve only pulled left front rotor. Thought that’s where it was coming from but didn’t see anything. Cleaned it up but no change so inconsistent on when it happens

The power steering pump will also squeal if the fluid is low.

Turned out to be right front backing plate being rusty and rubbing on the machined surface of the rotor which explained the high pitch squeal instead on a scraping noise. As expected it was the last rotor I pulled off

I’m having a similar issue. I’m getting a groaning noise when I turn at low speeds. Also I have noticed a slight squeal from my belt when I start truck. I do have a RCI aftermarket skid plate. Any thoughts on what’s wrong?

Get any coolant on your belt? What year is your truck and how many miles?

I don’t think I have any coolant on the belt. It started about a week ago and have not added coolant. The truck is a 2012 tundra crewmax TRD with about 180k miles

Has the belt, tensioner, or idler pulley ever been touched? If so when? Can you hear where it’s squealing?

The groan sounds like power steering pump - has the oil in that system ever been changed?

It hasn’t been changed. I just watched a video on changing it and it seems very straight forward. The other components you mentioned have never been touched. I’ll work on swapping fluid today or tomorrow and see if that clears any if this up. Thanks for the help on this!

2014 Tundra. Same problem for 2 years. Changed front rotors, pads and calipers. New rear brakes. Have to be going at some speed. Started on left. Dealer and other mechanics don't know. Has anyone figured this out?

So I had an aftermarket ball joint installed at some point. That ball joint needed to be greased. Greasing It immediately solved the issue for me.
