So I purchased a pair of Spyder Headlights for my TRD Pro and should be receiving them tomorrow, got them for $240 shipped through Amazon prime warehouse deal and decided to do attempt a retrofit on these instead of breaking my stock Pro headlights lol.

This is my first time attempting a retrofit and been lurking around the forum for tips and tricks. Will be purchasing everything from the retrofit source.

Just wanted to know what has worked for anyone that's attempted this retrofit before. I want to change out the LED strip to a brighter/cleaner bar that also acts as a turn signal, remove the orange from the headlights for a black/white theme. Want to know what people have done for the DRL and I'm open to options. Also going to attempt to install the motors from the stock headlights to be able to level them. I've read the projectors are decent and will be installing 5k HIDs as well!

Stand by for more and any help/advice is appreciated!

    *****UPDATE!*****

    New Spyder headlights installed!
My original plan was to do a full retrofit on these but after looking at how much all the parts cost for a retrofit I'm going to wait and see how I like these without having to bake/modify any of the headlight components BUT.....

    I Did a few modifications
    - Installed the OEM leveling motors from my stock headlights
    - Replaced low/high beam with 5500k 55w HID's. The spyder projector with these are amazing, clean cutoff with great distance!
    - Replaced parking/DRL with amber LED's
    - Rewired to use the parking light as a turn signal/DRL/hazard light, and when the low/high beams are on the LED bar is only on (didn't like seeing all the amber from the parking light and esp the DRL!!!).

Video Up on my Instagram page of cutoff line, leveling motors, and turn signal/hazards!!!!

Took some pictures and working on a DIY that will be up soon!

Let me know if anyone wants to see any other pictures/videos!

I was wondering why more people don't retro fit the spyders I have seen a few people do it and it looks really good

Dammit, i wanted to see someone retrofit these headlights.
I see trs has an adapter to mount their projectors in spyder headlights, but i cant find anyone that's used them.

How does the build quality feel compared to oem?

And yes, lets see some pics of the cutoff.

The cutoff is clean! Really surprised me but I don't feel like I need to change the projector at all. I posted a video of it on Instagram but had cars parked in the driveway and it showed some reflection from that but I'll take some tonight, with the HID's they're amazing

Here's a screenshot from the video I posted, again the cars reflect some of the beam but the video also shows the leveling motors from stock working flawlessly

If you dont mind, would you take a picture straight on of the front of your truck during the day? I have a white SR5 and i want to get spyder headlight and the pro grille. Would be nice to see what the combo looks like before i throw down my money.

need to adjust that cutoff. should go _/ _/ where the the left of the step cutoff is the same height. the passenger left of the stop cutoff should not match the driver right of the step cutoff.

Looks like truck in unlevel, the left truck seems lower than the car on the right. Looks really good!

How did you get the leveling motors to work? I want these in black and smoked. Like how you wired everything separate too. Great job!

Looks really good. Which 55w HID did you go with if you don’t mine me asking? I didn’t see it on your post but may have missed it.

Not sure what the total price tag was but I really like my retros in evolution black from eldobleu. Just have night pics of led bars and one side with bars off. Leds produce lots of glare on camera lens at night. Will try to take some day time pics. I went with the retros for PNP reasons.

How did you get the motors off the factory lights? I have the same Spyders and I cannot get the motors off the old headlights.

Very carefully. You have to back out the aluminum nut several turns then the whole white housing will become loose then you can turn it about 1/4 turn and it should come free. Be careful not to break the black clips on the body of the light assembly that would otherwise prevent it from spinning in the housing.

I recommend installing the lights and getting them aimed right, then marking a wall for a point of reference to make them a lot easier to get dialed back in after you remove the adjuster bolt.

To remove the motor from the stock housing unscrew the bolt almost all the way (Watch the light bucket as you unscrew the adjuster bolt, you will see it start to point way down. When it's aimed way down, try to stop before it bottoms out, you just need to make room for some play.) then unlock the motor by twisting it, and then you just have to unscrew the bolt the rest of the way to finally remove it. Reinstalling them in the spyder is just doing this in reverse. Removing the manual adjuster from the spyders is exactly the same, but instead of removing a motor from the light you will remove the white socket around the adjuster bolt, the housing even has arrows on it to show you which way to twist the white socket to open it.

After you reinstall the lights, make sure the adjustment knob is at 0, adjust the lights back to your marks on the wall, using the adjuster bolt manually on the back of the headlight, and then enjoy having this wonderful feature again.

Your lights look great! Still liking them? Did you replace the little side markers with LEDs or just use your stock bulbs?

I always liked these look. Now that it’s been awhile I’m wondering if ya still like them? How have the lenses held up? Any yellowing or malfunctions going on? Leveling motors fully function or half function?

I just bought a set of these for my 2015 SR5 crewmax. Mine were branded under the name ACANII. All of the reviews said they are plug and play. Is that true? The box they came in are logo'd Spyder.

It seems the Spyder lights are branded by other companies.
