Yeah. ricey can be loosely defined as "all hat, no cattle". I'm all for stylish upgrades but I don't see how those can provide much in the way of function. Rigid makes nice mounts that allow you to install 3" cubes in the factory location. They look badass, and actually serve a purpose beyond the cosmetic.

Edit: my mistake, I thought those were trying to be fog lights. I suppose there is some functionality to DRLs. carry on.

I don't know how to feel. I want to like them, but light emitting from three locations bugs me. Though, I would like white LED DRLs

I love them when they are headlight integrated. But I never understood why people do it sub headlight. Sorry if we rained on your parade OP.

The upper grille and that light bar location killed that truck for me. I was just focusing on the drls

I guess you didn't look very hard. There are numerous threads on this type of lighting. I have them on my 2010.

I think it was sometime after 2010 (perhaps 2011) that Toyota supplied these lights with Platinums. Then a few years later, they started to integrate them with headlights. For those of us who like factory lights but want to add leds, this is a good option especially if you don't want to open up the headlights. At one time, I considered doing halo, BHLM and the whole shebang, but after reading about frequent occurrence of condensation in the light housing after opening them up, I opted to go this way.

Personally, I don't pay much attention to what others consider as ricey, tasteless, etc. For some people, driving a Tundra is considered ricey. Do I give a sh**? not even for a minute. I do buy what I like and I mod my truck the way I like it.

I was looking for 3rd gens only, and I wasn't aware of the package. I really am not a fan of the aftermarket spyder headlights and I cant justify the cost of new oe headlights so this was a viable option for me. You raise a good point.

I remember looking at the Rostra kit a year ago and the wiring kit looked unnecessarily complex. I thought the Spyder kit was just a rebranded Rostra kit but it looks like it has a completely different harness.

Always thought the various LED DRL'S were "cutesy". Something a woman would want.
