So I'm wading into adding a little suspension lift, wheels, and up-sizing my tires. Nothing epic something on the order of +1" wheel diameter.

My question is what to do about the spare tire? Aside from the obvious reduction in ground clearance and likely traction, any issues with running a stock wheel and tire if you blowout an up-sized tire? The intention being getting down a fire-road and out to a tire shop.

Depends on how old the truck is. My spare is 10 years old almost. Im far more nervous at the age of the tire than a small size difference

Your intention may be a short run on a gravel road but you cannot predict where you will go flat. Get a rim and tire that matches so you won’t have to worry about it.

I haven't checked for extra clearance yet, but doesn anyone know if an oversized (+1" dia.) tire would fit in the stock spare tire space?

I plan on replacing my spare with a smaller tire that matches what's on the truck, the standard spare will have to do until then.
