While I make the long, eternal wait (3-4 months) before my 2018 TRD Sport (4x4), I have been reading these forums and taking notes. So I have a few questions:
    1. Why are you guys being so mean to my bank account??
    2. What does "color-keyed" mean, as in "color-keyed mirrors, bumpers, and hood scoop"?
    3. This is going to be my first pickup truck. I'm not going to be taking it off-road. My daily driving will be streets. That being said, what are some things I should "just know" or "must have?
#3 might be a loaded question. Essentially, I'm not a gear head nor have any desire to specifically drive in 4x4 only terrain (Kaena Point, for you Oahuans). I want to be like a 50% truck guy, if that makes sense :) I wouldn't mind putting the truck through work, but I'm a web dev; and my code base ain't that heavy to put in the back of a truck!

I've always wanted a Tundra, and now I'm in a place, financially, where I can choose my next car. So this is sort of a present for myself.

Any wizard and sage tips and tricks for a first timer are welcome! Thanks all

    1) its like hazing in a fraternity. Everyone before me made me spend all my money, now its your turn.
    2) color matched rather than chrome or a different shade of black.
    3) you should just know that everyone will need your help moving something, and the fuel mileage sucks so don't complain about it.

good luck in the buying process!!!!

    Welcome from TN, buddy!

    1. it comes with the territory! a truck is sexy, but a modded truck just makes sexy look like a victoria secret model....and i like victoria secret models.....we all do! Plus it's fun watching other guys scramble for money and whine about how they have none hehehehe
    2. color keyed = color matched.
    3. EVERYBODY (like @TRDFaux ) will need your help moving, towing, pulling, etc. Might want to invest in some ratchet straps, tow straps, rope, and paracord, also..... brush up on knot knowledge. Don't expect to get anywhere above 19 mpg. Be happy with 15 LOL

I wouldn't invest in anything except a slight lift (3/1), bigger tires (AT) up to about 35 if you'd like, but no smaller than 33's (especially on a 3/1). and depending on where you plan on wheeling, some skid plates to protect the undercarriage. You should be golden after that.

oh, and maybe a tonneau cover. Helps with theft when you forget crap in the back of your truck LOL

edit: Also, while you drive the tundra.....don't be alarmed when women throw their panties at you.

BWA HA HA HA this is true!

    Welcome from FL!

    1. Just because? Welcome to the party...
    2. As said above, matching Colors... If something is Chrome and you want to change it to match the rest of your truck instead.
    3. PRO TIP #1 complain about MPG... jk jk Tonneau is well worth the money just do your research on the one you want... I agree with @Law323 brush up on knot knowledge.

I will say i have gotten 19 mpg on a fresh tank, reset my mpg before going on a all highway trip. but once I got back in the city mpg took a big dump... but non the less 19 highway still is great considering all things!

I do have some stuff to haul every now and then... and its DAT ASS :muscleflexing::curls::censored:

I have 2wd and I've found myself wishing I had a 4x4. Less embarrassing when you can get your own ass out of sticky situations rather than call one of your buddies (of which, ALL have fords) to come bail your ass out and never hearing the end of it.

    c' mon man!

If you're gonna stick to the highway, a rear sway bar might be a good investment. It really does improve the ride on the road by reducing body roll.

I'll be honest, I much prefer fitness models over women with no muscle or curves.

yeah, that would just be awkward.

there is that......of course, in @4x4_Angel case, unless she's a switch hitter and hasn't let on, i'll stick with awkward LOL

and can't forget in situations your significant other is with you at the time of a panty shower.....you'll hear all about it.
