Hey guys, I have a lead on a softopper that was made for a RAM but is currently on a f150. Are these made and cut for each individual truck bed or is there a wiggle room that would let this fit on mine too. I have the crewmax shortbed which is only an inch give or take off the dimensions of the truck it's designed for. I've never actually seen one of these in person so I don't really know the things to look for.

I can't speak to whether or not it will transfer from truck to truck, but I had one of my tacoma and it was a pretty tight fit and i don't think it would fit on anything else. I'd imagine that Softopper cuts them all to each specific truck, since different trucks have different cab heights relative to the bed. I'd shoot them a call and see what's what.

Sounds good. I'll give that a go tomorrow. They're closed on Sundays I reckon. It gives me hope that this one was made for a ram and works on a for though. For $250 I figure it's worth looking into at least haha

Is the Ram one longer or wider? I know my crewmax Tundra-specific softopper is really stretched from L-R; I have a hard time connecting the last snap (tailgate) without pulling down on the metal softop frame.

the tundras bed is 64.8x62.5 and the RAMs is 65.5x62.0 so the rams is a tad longer which I guess would be ok according to your tight fit.

but I guess that really depends on where their measurements are being taken. .5" isn't a lot of play.

It seems really close to me then, I dunno. It might work! hard to say. And if its a year or two old the fabric will have a bit more give.

I have to really tighten down the straps on the frame and pull down on it and get it to fit more easily; which could be something that works for you as well.

Well I bought it anyways and it seems like it'll fit fine. Now just to get a couple of replacement parts, clean it up and keep this topper alive! I'll be looking at how to use the magnets for the back window. By the way, the clear panel have some discoloration, do any of y'all know a trick to help clear it up a little? I'm assuming it's just age and uv exposure so it's not going anywhere, but figured I'd ask.

Oh and softoppers customer support has been excellent so far. Super helpful even though I'm not buying a full topper from them.

update. got all the pieces and parts that I wanted to replace from the used topper and it all fits up fine! this was off of a RAM 1500 originally and it seems to fit fine on the tundra too. softopper was great to work with and even threw in a few parts free of charge to get me set up. stand up company!
