    I bought the '07 DC 4x4 Tundra to do some hauling as well as carrying loads that wouldn't fit in a station wagon or minivan.

    So far, I like the space of the Tundra, but I can't stand the handling and ride characteristics (I come from a background of modified Subarus, and used to complete in several different motorsports).

    I'm looking at lowering the Tundra by changing out the control arms (changing out the mounting point of the shock/spring combo) and doing a flip kit and Firestone airbags in the back. I will be upgrading the shocks to Bilsteins or Eibachs or perhaps a more performance-oriented shock. Going to also swap out the current AT's for more of a high-way oriented tire and hopefully find a set of much lighter wheels than the factory 20" alloys.

    Considering -> https://djmsuspension.com/product/djm2808-35/ or
    https://sosperformance.com/products/lowering-kit-fits-2007-16-tundra

    Just curious what are other fellow Canadians doing to lower their Tundra (if you're lowering them at all).

    I might be interested in lowering my truck just so it's easier to scrape the windshield in winter.

    I lowered the rear of my 2007 3.25" using the full kit from SOS performance... I left the front end stock, so the truck sits level and I didn't give up any ground clearance. Ride and handling are greatly improved, and I get sport truck firmness & handling when I run my 285/60-18 Summer performance tires.

    RitcheyRch - how much does the TRD kit lower by? Is it similar to the DJM where the fronts replace the control arm?

    SOS Performance flip kit, Firestone airbags, TRD anti-roll bar with short end links and Bilstein 4600 shocks that are 3.25" shorter than stock. You will need to shorten your tail pipe by cutting it right after the last hanger.

    The TRD kit lowers it 2" in front and 4" in the rear. The front kit consists of new springs, struts and bump stops. The TRD kit does not change the control arms. I also believe the TRD kit will not work on a 4 wheel drive.

    Is there a kit that will lower it but keep the rake?

    I'm not sure. Can check the Toyota TRD website.

    Rex Kramer - is your's a 4x4 Tundra or the 4x2? I'm guessing with the SOS flip kit, it was not enough space for the rear section of the tailpipe? Would you happen to have a picture of the airbags from the opposite side? Just trying to determine the relative orientation compared to the axle with the flip kit installed. Was your rear swaybar installed before or after the lowering in the back? What did you use for the front to lower? What was the part number on those Bilstein 4600's? Thanks!

    Cpl_Punishment - I believe if you want to keep the slight rake, you would just lower the rears less than any lowering in the front. I'm going to be doing the control arms in the front to get the 3" lowering. I want the truck to be totally flat/level, so I believe it needs a 5" lowering in the rear.

    4X2... when the leaf pack is hung below the axle it block the tailpipes original path. The sway bar was installed with the flip kit, and the front suspension is all stock - I didn't lower the front. Check out my rescue thread, the part# for the shocks is on page #3 I think. Here are the pictures you requested.

    Rex Kramer - thanks! Which Firestone airbag kit did you use? Per the kit for the Tundra's the lower bracket for the airbag is supposed to sit on the cut bump stop isn't it?

    It the kit SOS Performance sells, the brackets are made specifically for the lowered Tundra.
