Hi, I hope I'm not starting a duplicate thread but I couldn't find one on this.

I finally purchased a Tundra and it already had a snugtop on it! But as I've been driving it I've noticed the right side keeps popping open on it's own I've tried making some adjustments to no avail. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions to fix it?

You've already adjusted the passenger side and it still doesn't latch?

Mine would do that occasionally until I adjusted it. Afterwards, it occasionally had issues but a quick slam fixed it.

Is there debris or anything blocking it?

How about a pic or 2 of the mechanism inside the door so we might have a clue what it looks like?

I cant even tell for sure from that pic if yours has a single or two handles on the outside and what the rods that make the latch look like either.

Wow thanks for the quick response's! It has a single latch in the center. I can get it to shut but I think the connecting rod rattles and causes it to open while driving.

Could you post a pic of the catch located on the shell itself?

You might be able to move it out slightly to allow the latch to fully seat on the passenger side. It's also possible the connecting rod is loose

OK if there is a handle in the center then there are usually 2 rods,1 going to the each side.
Then there is usually a way to adjust from behind the knob so that the 2 rods can be made to engage or overlap the topper sides to keep each one closed.
Does this sound like your setup?
I still can not tell from the pics whether this is how yours is or not?

Go inside the shell and look at the latch while open and closed, it will make sense viewing it from that way. It just needs quick adjustment (assuming the shell is positioned properly and not blocked by tailgate).

I had to do the same with mine.

Here's another pic with it latched. Thanks for all the suggestions! I've tried loosening and tightening the connecting rod and it seems to make no difference either way. I also tried moving the latch on the shell like Bailey said but it's already all the way out.

I have a leer but same idea and I wasnt happy with how loose my rear window was when it was shut so i figured out how to adjust it. You need to loosen the bolts on the catches mounted to the shell, you'll notice that they are adjustable. Sit in the bed with the tailgate down and shut the window and, with the bolts loosened pull them back tight evenly between both sides and tighten the bolts. This will probably ended up being to tight for them to catch when the tailgate it up but then you can adjust from there. This took me a few trys and multiple adjustment but now my rear window has no play at all when its shut.

Thanks for all the advice! After a solid few hours messing with it I can get it to shut with some effort. I adjusted the catches and now if I push on each side the will click into the second position. I'm curious if it will stay shut while driving, but it looks promising, and it's far better than it was before!

Nice, i always make sure when i shut mine I press from both ends. Also dont be afraid to loosen it, if u have to shut it with too much force its under more tension when shut and more likely to pop back open, you can also usually also adjust the cables that attach to the unlock handle, those might also need to be tightened as they stretch over time.

The Snug Top seems to latch differently than any top I have ever owned or even seen really so I am no help here at all but I am shocked that they do not just use the same simple system that all of the others seem to use?

The ones that I have had with the 2 bars that just wedge under metal plates on each side are both simple to tweak and solid and reliable in use,in fact as long as the bar goes where they are supposed to in those I am not sure how one could ever Pop open as yours is?

Glad that you figured it out though......hopefully!
