Stay tuned for something really sweet from us.

We just designed a rack that will do the following:

    - allow you to fully open your tonneau cover
    - fit over Softoppers
    - carry ladders and other long items over the cab

It also features adjustable height and width. It will mount to the Tundra, Tacoma, and every other truck on earth.

    Sneak Preview Pic's

I'm intrigued, that could be very useful when I go camping with the kayak, would open a lot of bed space under the cover by putting the kayak up on a rack. Any idea how much weight would be safe on the rack?

    We're rating it for RTT's.

I can sit right on the center of the crossbar with zero deflection (206 lbs).

You sir just fixed my kayak and fishing gear dilemma. Sucks when you have two sot kayaks and fishing gear to fit into the back of a crewmax. Would this work with a roll up tonneau cover, thinking about the rails with the Velcro on a Truxedo.

Please keep us posted on when this becomes available

You just have to be able to get our attachment bracket under that cover. And this will work with Tundra's equipped with the deck rail option or without.

I should be picking up parts from powder coat next week (but Turkey Day might get in the way, and I'm fishing Black Friday).

@KB Voodoo post a pic of the cargo basket too. @BIGUGLY and @Daze823 might be able to utilize it for some wet kayak
    gear over a tonneau

This is what I would do if I still paddled. I'm about to order one when my bank account springs back. It'll go over a tonneau with the right crossbars....which he has as well

Thanks much. My only dilemma is the truexedo covers use a raised rail that they use to attach the velcro to. So the rail sticks up above the bed surface maybe 3/4 of an inch or so and come in from the bedside approximately 1 inch.

Really hoping I could get this to work, I'm not real into the trifold covers but might have to be since this rack system looks perfect. Not the best picture but if you look close you can see the velcro area and rail I'm talking about. Prefer a roll up since I don't lose bed space but may go the trifold route to make this work.F146220879.jpg

could you cut spaces out of the Velcro/rail big enough to fit the brackets and then add Velcro to the top of the brackets for the top to adhere to. it would beat buying a new cover.

Don't have a cover yet, had good luck with a truxedo on my old truck. Only issue of cutting is I would not leave the racks in all year.

Anyone know what tonneau cover is being used in the above pictures from vodoo. Can't figure out if a bakflip 4 would work or an extang solid fold would work.

It is the BesTop that we talk about in this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/bestop-tonneau-cover-install-with-kb-voodoo-bed-crossbars.15348/

    Most covers work.

The two most important criteria are:

    1) Can our attachment bracket fit under your cover?
    2) Does the attachment bracket have a way to attach?

There are two methods of attachment:

    1) T-slot nuts in the deck rail.
    2) Our No-Drill clips behind the little "lip" that folds down inside the bed.

This is what our attachment bracket looks like:

Will the completed product still use that Item extruded aluminum and channel nuts to set the height?

What is the weight rating for the top load? My company uses this a lot for the machines we build - in one case we have a frame built out of extruded aluminum profiles, it has two vertical profiles that support 7 horizontal profiles. It's connected to an elevator and is used to move corrugated sheets up and down to feed into our machine. At any given time, even with the heaviest of board, it's supporting maybe 120lbs... Over time the horizontal profiles begin to sag with the weight of the corrugated. Not only do they sag, but the horizontal track guides slip in the channels over time. I fabricated and installed some brackets that space the horizontal profiles and prevent them from slipping in the channels, but they still sag in the center.

I notice that you've reinforced your horizontal supports with what I assume is a rigid steel outer sheath. I'm curious what weight rating you're getting for the horizontal bars and if you've noticed any slipping inside the channels?

We use four bolts at each structural intersection, so there's no way it will ever slip.

The steel center section adds significant rigidity. I can sit right in the center of the main crossbar with zero deflection (204 pounds).

We are conservatively rating this rack at 200 pounds dynamic, and 400 pounds static.

So not enough to support an RTT with 2 "American sized" adults plus dogs.... :(

We will likely increase the weight rating after more testing. This is a completely new style of rack for us, so we're playing it safe.

Cool! Thanks to this info. I'm a couple years out on being able to justify needing an RTT,but when I do, I'll be looking for rigid, permanent mounted. I'll keep an eye on your developments. Glad to see your design this far!

We use two and are using the standard channel nuts provided by Item.. We start to see sagging after about 6-8 months with ours.

What I love about this rack is the exact height adjustments you could make. For someone like me with roof racks, if the vertical posts were tall enough I could line it up exactly.

Yeah but we're supporting only 120lbs MAX and seeing this after a few months - and that's the combined weight of all tracks. Each individual track is only supporting ~20lbs at a time and they are slipping with two bolts on either end of the support.

We're using four bolts at each intersection. Two on each side of the extrusion. There are a total of 16 bolts that support a vertical load. There won't be any slippage.

I'm not saying there will be, just curious what your experience had been.

As I mentioned we stopped slipping with a bracket that spaces the horizontal profiles but we still have an issue with sagging. I might look in to a solution similar to yours.

on the cross bar closest to the tailgate, it looks like there are 4 bolts that hold it to the post. 2 going vertically and 2 going horizontally.

is there a way you could make it so that instead of having 4 bolts, could have 2 bolts and 2 knobs on each side.
that way the back bar could removed easily if you are loading a bunch of mess. you could just take it off, then put it back on real quick.
i really like the looks of this, got to do my suspension first though. i was just curious if you could make it that way for the back cause that would be a killer feature.

Hi - Exactly what I am looking for. I went to the website but didn't find this listed. Is it available or did not go into production? Thanks.
