This afternoon went out into the garage and heard a slight humming. Tracked it down to coming from under the 21' Tundra. Sounded like a small air pump and could be best heard from the rear wheel well. Truck was sitting for about 7 hours from when I heard it, so not sure how long it was going on. Started the truck for about 10 seconds and shut it down and the noise stopped. So far I don't hear it. Any ideas?? Only 4,200 miles

Normal. Pollution control pump of some sort.

fuel pump I bet. I did read another thread where someone with a newer truck also had the fuel pump humming for many hours. Probably something to mention to the dealer.

Yep. I first discovered mine at about 2:30am one night. Do a search and you'll find several examples.

Read the thread Timsp8 linked. Sounds just like what I experienced and from the fuel tank area. Seems normal. First I've heard of this.

I’ve heard mine do it randomly, sometimes hours after the truck was turned off. It only does it for maybe 5-10 seconds though.

I don't know how long mine was going, several minutes while I tracked down the sound and who knows how long before hand

    Alot of them
It's the evap system. The Tundras have had it for years. The 4Runners have it as well. Most people can't hear it unless it is dead quite.

According to the EPA, all cars built since 1970 have to have an evap system. News to me.
